I was dead set against the wild card format when it was rolled out, but I'm actually starting to like it now. Both leagues have interesting races down the stretch, but being a Cardinals fan, I only care about the NL right now.
My hope would be that the Dodgers and Giants tie for the West. If I'm not mistaken, they would have to play 1 game to determine who wins the West and who falls to the 1st wild card slot. The loser would then have to turn around and play the 2nd wild card team which is going to be the Cardinals. I really don't see the Giants losing 2 games over the last week because they do have the easier of the schedule.
So here's my question. Assuming the Dodgers and Giants do tie, do you think the Dodgers would burn Scherzer in that first game against the Giants? Or go with Bueller or Kershaw? The reason I ask is because the Cardinals really struggle against Scherzer.
