OT Leland Cypress trees going brown....any feedback?

I have a 15 year old Leland Cypress loosing needles and browning on me.

please give me an idea what I maybe able to do for it.

Probably canker. If it hasn't reached the trunk yet cut off the infected branches. If it has reached the trunk cut down the tree. Burn everything you cut down.

Bag worms maybe? Look for little sack like structures on branches.

Replace with Green Giant Arbovitae. Much better choice

Thanks for the replies here...doesn’t look like bag worms so I am scared it may be canker, I have reached out a local arborist for help.....

My nursery guy that I buy from says they just won’t make it very long anymore. Since Katrina he says 5-6 years is all most people can get out of them. He thinks is just a new disease in them that wasn’t present before, for what that’s worth.

Choose another plant, I put in Carolina Saphires instead.

I've reverted to indigenous cedars (technically red cedars i think). only one i dislike more than leland's are bradford pears. I had no luck spraying them for the bagworms and literally strapped a small propane torch to a pool scooper pole and burnt all of them i could see. Saved the tree and i'll admit it was gratifying to see the thing squirm, when the flame hit it, but not worth the drama of worrying about whether or not a stupid tree is 'healthy' or not.

Eastern Red Cedar (juniperus virginiana) varieties are a much better option and have next to no problems once established.
