For anyone curious, this is the view from behind the new green on six (right) and the new tee box on seven (left) at the LCC. Looks like they’re adding a bit of a dogleg to six, and minimizing the one on seven.
They made a pond in front of the 4th tee, but did not expand the hazard to front the first green, or left of the third green. That gully was a pond like 80 years ago from what I was always told.
They extended the lake on 14-15 to protect a little bit of the 13th green. I was kinda hoping they’d connect that with the lake in front of the 6th tee to protect the greens on 7 and 13. But no go.
I grew up on that course, but haven’t played it for years. So I’m not sure if some of the fairway bunkers, on 1, 8 and 18 for example, are new or not. It looks to me that they moved the 12th tee down and to the right, and maybe backed up the 13th tee. To me, 12 looks easier than I remember, and 13 longer.
They are adding a ton of tee boxes for shorter hitters, and remaking and enlarging a bunch of greens. A lot of work!
that was about all I could see before I got busted by an assistant manager in a cart. At least he was very pleasant.
