I'm working just outside Kansas city and have a day off today. Thinking about heading into kc for some bbq. Where does the pack suggest?

Thanks

Q39 . Ate there Thursday night, and I must say the brisket plate was 5-star. Great atmosphere and excellent service. Try the burnt end appetizer, too.

For brisket Gates is fantastic as is Authur Bryant's. Gates burt ends is top notch. For ribs go to Jack Stack bbq.

Only one Ive been to is Arthur Bryants and it was good. The Brisket and sausage were probably the best things there

Joe's is awesome. I would say go to the one in leawood because the line won't be as long and the bbq is still awesome.

ETA: In my opinion Q39 is completely skippable.

I liked Arthur Bryant's.

I've tried all the name brand BBQ in Memphis and Central BBQ is my hands-down favorite, if that gives you some reference to my taste.

I’d say Arthur Bryant’s — sauce is legit too ( and I don’t base my bbq preference on sauce, ever, but there’s is dang good) and Joes are my favorite.
Haven’t had Gates tho but heard good things about it.

Joes at the gas station was very good. I’m not a fan of the thin sliced brisket though and that’s what they serve there. The pulled pork and sausage was incredible and their ribs are great.

I enjoy some good thick brisket and Q39 has that. They also have great sides. Ribs were small and average.

Both were really good bbq though

Totally agree with this^^^^^If they haven't run out of burnt ends by the time you order, get some! Some of the best BBQ I've even tasted.

No offense intended, but I'm guessing some of these recommendations are from folks who haven't eaten BBQ in KC in a decade or more.

Joe's, all day.
