OT. Headlight refurbishing kits

And I'm asking about the headlights on the wife's vehicle, not the wife.


What are some of the better ones and which ones just are not that good?

We tried the toothpaste trick. Works in a pinch for a few days, but not for anything lasting.

I tried several and they gave temporary, decent results. My cousin runs a body shop and usually buffs them out....that's good too but I finally just bought new headlight kits. That cured it - good as....new

Along the same vein, has anyone had success with restoring the black plastic color on your car? I’ve use a few products, but they last for about a week or so max.

Wet sanding with sandpaper in progressive grits all the way up to 2500, then clearcoat.

Check out the cerakote ceramic coating for plastic. I have the same problem on my truck and their product has lasted over a year for me. The same project farm guy video rated it his highest as well

Solution Finish Trim Restorer last a pretty good while. It's the best I've used

For head and tail lights the 3M product does a great job. Did the lights on an old truck 2 years ago and still look new
