Big one today - America's Game. Winner gets the Commander in Chief Trophy. Army is favored by 6.5 and is averaging an amazing 314.2 rushing yards per game, first in FBS. But Navy can do it. Navy QB was injured but is full go: "Damn the Torpedoes full speed ahead!"

Love this game. It's so different and old time football - not a shootout/track meet. No NIL or transfer portal. There might be only eight possessions apiece. This is part of the joy of this game. It becomes an exercise in discipline.

The "ARMY!" spelling on uniform uses the " !" as a reference to a US officer using it to turn down Nazi demands for surrender. The snow speckles on shoulders are for Battle of the Bulge/Bastogne.

"Bar none, the coolest feature to note is the typography "ARMY!" lettering on the back of the jerseys. During the Battle of the Bulge, the 101st Airborne Division's Anthony McAuliffe was contacted by a Nazi commander demanding a surrender. Instead, McAuliffe replied with just "NUTS!" Another commander hilariously then clarified to the Nazi forces that the response meant "Go to Hell!" The type font is meant to mimic that message."

Army getting lit up. We can stop arguing about Army deserving a playoff spot...they don't.

They've been terrible on offense and defense but especially on defense. Its like Navy knows the play. The coaching has been awful I think. Navy must have studied the ND game

This was always a fantastic game. But in today's world of semi pro "college" football there is NOTHING better.

And if unfortunately this system ruins all the non playoff bowls..I am grateful they can't **** this one up.

And I may only have 10-15 years left..please never replace these announcers. I just respect them so much as the call the game with so much character and don't make it about them.

Crazy win for Navy. I've said two weeks ago that Army playing for the conference title could be an issue. No rest.
That stadium sucks and I still went. Been there before. Never again. DC will have an new Stadium by the time they come back.
Both teams had a wonderful year, way better than anyone even thought of.
There is no joy in me rubbing it in to Army fans so I certainly won't. Great season for the best two academy's.

With all the changes in college football and more to come - the influence of NIL money, transfer portal, the movement towards two dominant conferences, mercenary behavior of players and coaches, the loss of even the semblance of amateurism - the Army-Navy game will only get bigger, even if both teams are 1-10 going into it.

The Navy coach said this yesterday after the game: “It’s hard nowadays, with the changes in college football, to really build a culture that’s built on love and trust. Those things take time,” Newberry said. “We still have those here at the academies. That’s why I think I've got one of the best jobs in the country.”

AF lost to both Army and Navy, Coast Guard doesn't play in FBS. I'm talking about Football teams this year 🙄 Didn't you read "this season" ???

I was in Bastogne, Belgium this past April. Absolutely wonderful if you're into history.
Not easy to get to unlike other famous towns in Belgium

I'd like to see a conference with teams that still have STUDENT(with some margin for error lol) athletes
Army, Navy, Stanford, ND, Rice, Cal and others - call it the "OG Conference."

Add Duke, Georgia Tech, Air Force and Northwestern and call it the "SAT Conference"
