OT: GE Refrigerator/Freezer Repairman???

Can you recommend anyone in the Jackson, MS area?
I have had problem with mine for nearly two week and I have yet to get on that can successfully cure the problem with the refrigerator not cooling below 58 actual degrees.
The freezer gets to actual zero degrees, which is the recommended temperature.
This unit is less than 6 years old.

I think they are designed to last

6-7 years, so you’re probably getting close to the end.

I gave up on GE appliances. Just had terrible luck with most all of them.

just be happy you don't have a Bosch. There is no such thing as a Bosch repairman.

Is this a top freezer refrigerator? If so, then either your fan motor has quit or your defroster has quit. Open freezer, hold button that the door presses and see if the fan blows. If the fan doesn't blow and the air channels aren't frozen, buy a fan and put it in.

If it's a french door then it could be several issues, mainly because the newer ones have evaporators on the fridge side as well now.

Highly likely it's either a temp sensor on the fridge side or a stuck refrigerant diverter near the compressor.

They hide the service instructions under the door hinge cap or shoved in the bottom condenser fins. Find that and it will show you how to enter test mode to test each part.

I would also give you my number to check it out, but those guys are just so time consuming to be worth it at my service call fee. Glad to walk you through anything though.

I have a Fridgidaire that was doing the same thing. What mine was I was setting it to 34 and the fan for the evaporator got frozen. i had to open the back panel from inside the fridge and get that ice out of there. Now I run it at 38 and not have anymore problems.
