I have several customers that are being Furloughed for one week..they can’t use PTO or VACATION .. how does that work? Is it just time off with no pay? Can they file Unemployment for 1 week? Does Trump send them a check for one week or are they SOL?

Company covers usually covers benefits, employee gets to file unemployment, employee has a job when business picks back up without having to reapply.

But what companies are doing is Furloughing people every other week... Furlough one week, work next week, Furlough week after that, then work another week..

I wonder how many people are going to lose their jobs when companies figure out they get 98% of the work done with people working every other week.

Sales have been shifting to digital channels for years, but conflicts within companies have suppressed adoption. Nobody is going to push customers to a website if it lowers commission or reduces the size of a sales team.

There is going to be a big shift to digital for low value transactions like consumables and replacement parts. You still need knowledgeable people for complex deals, but lots of B2B salespeople are going to have to find new jobs or professions.

The airlines and hotels are will take many years to recover. People are learning how to efficiently hold remote meetings and are realizing how much more time they get in their life not going to an office.

Sports and other forms of live entertainment will come back, but it won’t be at the peaks we once saw. The first platform to effectively stream smaller concerts is going to crush it.

Commercial real estate is going to get crushed. I think they will be one of the second waves of economic problems when restaurants and other businesses have to just walk away from leases.

This won’t “end” any particular industry, but it will accelerate change in a lot of them. There is a massive amount of opportunity for enterprising individuals.
