Going to be in Fort Worth the next few days, I was wondering if any of you might have some suggestions on some good eats in the area. Going to mainly be near Mira Vista Golf Club and back down Bryant Irvin towards I20. I was hoping to find some good local BBQ or just good food with fun mostly family friendly atmosphere, good beer would be great. Looks like there’s a ton of chains all through here. Any help is greatly appreciated.

There are several good places in the Stockyards, and most are family friendly. Lonesome Dove is a Tim Love place and it’s really good, but high end...

Joe T. Garcia’s is a local “legendary” place.... mainly because of its awesome patio. Food choices are limited, it’s family style, fairly pricey and cash-only. But, I always recommend people try it at least once for the ambience.

The Woodshed is another Tim Love place and it’s outstanding! It’s located right on the Trinity River.

The Shops at Clearfork is new but has several awesome restaurants. Lots of high-end shopping, too.

Magnolia Avenue has several good places all within walking distance. It’s family friendly before normal “party” hours. Not sure of BBQ there, though.

McDonald's to keep dining rooms closed in Texas, Mississippi

(Reuters) - McDonald’s Corp will keep dining rooms in its Texas and Mississippi restaurants closed, even as the two U.S. states lifted coronavirus curbs allowing businesses to reopen at full capacity.
The fast-food chain told Reuters on Thursday it was not planning to make any changes to its COVID-19 protocols right away.

^ Joe T Garcia’s is a cool place, excellent margaritas.

I like Cattlemens at the Stockyards - very Drover-esque.

Seriously....several go-to places in Ft. Worth

In addition to all those suggested up near the Stockyards, there's a Razzoo's on Bryant Irvin near where you'll be staying. It's New Orleans food.

If you want to go northwest of there, there's two places I definitely go for Friday lunch- one is Tex Star's Grill on Rufe Snow Drive- Chicago style meals, plus encourage open-carry (plenty of cops go there for lunch, safest place in Fort Worth).

The other is the Al-Wadi cafe, a Lebanese-Mediterranean restaurant- 2712 Brown Trl, Bedford, TX 76021-4187, All you can eat, plus order the Lebanese coffee- no matter how much you overreat, their coffee will settle your stomach and keep you from the post-lunch blahs.

Heim BBQ is on Magnolia. Highly recommend. Heim also has another location near the Trinity River. It has outdoor seating that’s nice. In fact, I had lunch there today. Get the brisket and green chile mac and cheese.

Joe T Garcia’s is the MUST reatuarant. It’s amazing. Great scenery and food. Get the enchilada meal. Come with an awesome cheese tortilla. Your in a damn garden eating. When you get there, there is a turnstile that looks like really long line. Goes really fast. It’s actually amazing to watch how they seat people. Just go!

Heim has always been the best BBQ in Ft Worth, but I went to a place last year that might be better... Dayne's at Lola's Trailer park. It's legit. But Heim is a safe bet.

One other place not mentioned is Fred's Texas Cafe(The original off 7th.) Just a great place to get a beer and a burger. The diablo burger at Fred's might be my favorite burger in the world.

Rodeo Goat is outstanding and their beer selection is solid, too....

They seem to make more money that way with less overhead. Makes for really long drive through lines though.

The stockyards also had a place up the hill that had an awesome chicken fried steak bigger than the plate. Don’t remember the name of the place. Wasn’t busy at all at lunch

And if you want fast food, hit up Torchy’s.

Torchy’s is a regional chain, but freaking delicious tacos. I 2nd this genius’ suggestion.

Recommend the Trailer Park (get it trashy) and the Democrat tacos. The guac and queso are fantastic as well.

Joe T’s also a good spot for a nice dinner. Remember to bring cash!

Derek Allen’s is always good, especially if you can get there early enough for a breakfast brisket biscuit.

Also, Panther City is legit.

Torchy's also has some off the menu items. If you look them up on the internet you will see them. Great taco's. My high school son also works at one of the locations.
