no, they’ve actually got them in the White. Monster browns..The million rainbows they stock...food for the browns that they don’t stock anymore.

They actually do still stock browns on the white, just not nearly as many as rainbows. Browns will reproduce on the white, rainbows will not.

ah..I stand corrected. So are the browns they currently stock triploid like the bows? you would think so..

Had to google "triploid" but I would say the brown are not as they do spawn on the white starting around November I believe..

Sorry, yeah it’s the way the hatchery “sterilizes” stockers to keep them from breeding with wild fish for those that don’t know.

If you go to the island down river from Rim Shoals you can't walk 15' in any direction on the west side without stepping on a red in early November. Most of your fly guides will stay clear of that side of the island most of the fall for that reason.

So I was lurking but. I joined just to make this post.

Assuming you are somewhat close to Starkville then by far your closest place is below Smith Lake dam in Alabama. They stock it with rainbows and the dam keeps a continuous flow of cold water from the bottom.

It has alarms if they have to bring it up and steps in and out of the river should it happen.
