I'm thinking about getting my younger kids a real system for Christmas (they've only had nintendo classic and ipad games so far), but I have no idea which one to get. The last one I bought was like a PS2 for my older kids.

I have two girls and a boy, all under 7, so I'm not looking for blood and guts shooters... They love minecraft and I guess Fortnite, racing, and I want some sports games (baseball/soccer/golf/tennis/etc.)

What system do y'all like/recommend?

Oh, and by the way: Joe Moorhead, piss joke, new coach. Just wanted to make sure I hit all the mandatory keywords in my post.

At that age I would highly recommend the Nintendo Switch. It has a ton of kid friendly games. It lacks the graphics of the XBox One and the PS4 but the gameplay is awesome. Plus it has the added convenience of picking it up and taking it with you (however I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND getting some sort of bumper case or protective if you do decide to take it somewhere)

Second I would recommend the PS4. The controllers are a good bit smaller than the Xbox One and will be easier for the kids to hold and play. Plus, the sports games will look much better for you!

The Xbox One is a great system as well and I gave it the third spot literally due to the size of the controller for younger kids. The graphics are amazing as well and this system has the faster game load times vs the PS4

Hope my opinion helps!

I second the Nintendo Switch. It has much more kid friendly games than the PS4 or Xbox1. I just got one and this Christmas we are gonna buy Mario kart 8 Deluxe, Mario Party, Super Smash Brothers and some dance game for the wifey. That will be really fun for the family during the holidays to get real competive and yell and scream at each other.

Plus, you can get Zelda: Breath of the Wild for you ( if you like those games). I just got it and it is awesome. They will be fighting over the portable part though. I second getting some sort of drop guard for it because if looks fragile.
Now if they are serious gamers, I would get a PS4.

For kids that age Id get a switch and Mario Kart. It’s portable and a lot of fun. My girls got one for Christmas last year and we have a blast playing games on it and it’s super easy for them to pick up on how to play.

I wouldn’t get a PS4 right now because the PS5 is coming about a year from now.

I'll echo what everyone else has said and say the Switch. There are so many games appropriate for kids. One I'd look at for sure is Mario Party- it's a good one for the whole family to play together.

Exactly what I would recommend as well. Get the switch now, and you can buy a PS5 or new Xbox in two or three years.

If you’re looking to save some money they do have a digital version only Xbox for sale now for only $150 I think. We never use discs anymore anyway so the digital version would be fine. If you have a decent PC your kids may also be interested in that. My kids started PC games (mostly Minecraft) when they were only around five or six and like that better than the Xbox once they figured out the controls
