It's Taylor brand pork roll Trenton pork roll and Case pork roll. If you attend the pork roll festival in Trenton in May they have seminars to answer all your questions. I willingly attend.

O thank God. At least Rutgers finally got something right and didn't call it Taylor Ham.

That area has always been pork roll. Use to get these 12" microwaved pork roll and (yellow American) cheese subs from MV Deli as my hangover cure all the time!

Stop with your Blasphemy Doug, I live in Central Jersey and I damn well eat Pork Roll. Never liken us Central Jerseyan's to you Congested Northerner's or Southern 609er's. That's simply sacrilegious.:)

Nothing worse than being from Mercer and having grown up with your 609 home line NOT getting changed to 732. I try my best to pretend otherwise when calling the family.

You bring back memories. When I worked on College Ave in the late 70’s, early 80’s I often got pork roll and cheese from MV. “Forget the rest we are the best”

You know there's no such thing as Central Jersey just like there's no such thing as Pork Roll in North Jersey.[cheers]
I live in Mount Olive in Morris county, 5 minutes south of Sussex county, 2 miles south of route 80, you can't get much more north than that, and it's called Pork Roll up here. And I also grew up in Green Brook which is in Central Jersey. Thanks for your input, your false input, but your input on this very important issues.

I grew up in Greenbrook too. Back when kids from GB went to Dunellen for high school. Moved to GB in eighth grade so was only in school in Greenbrook School one year.

...but it's "Pork Roll" in most of Central Jersey Doug!
That part of Jersey started calling itself Central Jersey because it succeeded from the South .
But there are Northerners and Southerners that deny its existence.

Of course there are others glad that part of Jersey isn't aligned with their section of Jersey and glad to call it Central.

As for pork roll called Taylor pork roll or by another brand name, let those without a sense of
history call it by that.
But for some the original name Taylor Ham and refuse to be PC when we discuss the official breakfast sandwich of New Jersey
The Famous Taylor Ham, Egg and Cheese Sandwich

  • Ingredients
  • 1 hard Roll
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 Slice of American Cheese
  • 2 Slices of Taylor Ham
  • 1 teaspoon Butter

Did Greenbrook ever open back up? I know it closed and everyone went to Hillsborough. It was a nice little new school then it just shut down. Was enrollment not large enough to sustain it? All those little towns in CJ, Greenbrook, Bernards, Middlesex. Dunellen, Manville and Bound Brook all had schools at one point. Hell even private Pingry was small in that area. I remember going to college and telling people I graduate with a class of 125 and that was considered a big class.

Greenbrook now has K-8 using Irene Feldkirhner (sp?) for grade school and old high school building for middle school. Send kid to Watchung Hills Regional for high school.
Dunellen still goes alone. Several plans for regionalization fell thru quite a few years ago. First was with Greenbrook, but GB voters voted against it so that’s when GB closed and did send/receive with WH.
My high school class (1966) graduated 133. My son who graduated Dunellen in 1997 had 39 graduates. That was low point, classes have gotten bigger since.

I graduated from GB high school in 1982 with 94 classmates . My youngest sister graduated from GB in 1986 with about 46 classmates. The high school is now a middle school and the high school age kids now go to Watchung Regional. No GB students ever went to Hillsborough.

Relax man. Why so serious about it? It really doesn't matter to me. I'm having fun with the fact NJ can be so divided over one thing we should be united behind. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: Besides, Bergen County is more North Jersey than Morris County, so it's taylor ham. [winking]

You don't know when someone is having some fun do you? If I was anymore relaxed I would be in my grave. Beyond that Bergen county never mattered for anything and it's PORK ROLL !

You know the context of things is easily missed. Everyone is on edge.
