We will be hitting CO Springs, Breckinridge/Frisco, Telluride and Ouray. Currently en route.
We have things planned but I always get good input from the Pack. Recommendations of things to do? Restaurants for any of the above towns?
also, trying to decide on place to stay in Telluride???

thank in advance

The wife and I spent some time in the Springs two years ago and really enjoyed ourselves. The best meal we had was at Red Gravy, its a small Italian place downtown. Tripple D has featured several places in Manitou Springs and Old Colorado City. Both of these towns are good small town areas to walk around. Check out Pikes Peak and Garden of the Gods, get there early and are good places to kill half a day or more.

Sorry, hit wrong button .........
Restaurants: Baked in Telluride for Breakfast and lunch (great sandwiches to day hike lunches); Brown Dog Pizza; Siam for Thai; Upscale try 221 South Oak and Allreds (on top of mountain, ride free gondola, amazing views)

Do the Galloping Goose bike/Trail ride.

If you find yourself heading west from Breckenridge to get to Ouray, you'll go through the Aspen area and Glenwood Springs. You can head south to get there too, but there's only about a 15 minute difference in trip times. Two restaurants in Glenwood Springs that I like are The Pullman and CO Ranch House. Both really good. Also the final resting place of Doc Holiday, if you're into that type of stuff. If you fish, you should take the opportunity to fish the Frying Pan and/or float the Roaring Fork.

Check out Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, even if you only have time for a brief drive-through. Every bit as impressive as the Grand Canyon.

Wife and I went to Telluride last year. It was great. The Cosmopolitan is really good and they have a happy hour that the locals line up early for because the special is only available for certain tables. I cant remember which drinks and appetizers are available but it is really good. I'll second Allred's great view and I had the bison ribeye, $ but it was outstanding. The tacos at GNAR are really good. To be honest we didn't have a bad meal while we were there including the bar food. I'm jealous. I think Telluride might my favorite trip.

Loved the Million Dollar Highway ride! Telluride was my favorite town, we flew into Durango, took the shuttle up to Silverton, then took a jeep tour. Then rode the old train back to Durango, awesome beauty on the that old steam engine, had to stop and refill with water on the way back! Mesa Verda is pretty interesting, but it's so much to see and do all around that 200 mile area!

Do they still have the summer bobsled carts (alpine slide?) you can ride down the mountain at Winter Park?

I love Colorado. My favorite state!

Go to Uncle Sam's pancake house in Manitou Springs. My favorite Breakfast place! You must drive up Pikes Peak. Don't take the shuttle, drive it yourself but be careful. Garden of the God's and Wind of Caves are incredible as well. Royal Gorge Bridge is a must, it is outside Pueblo. We ate really good Mexican in Pueblo but can't remember the name. Angelo's Pizza was really cool in the downtown area. I would recommend staying in Denver for a night. Go see red rocks, the concert venue. Even if no one is playing its worth it. I will be retiring there one day!

The Air Force Academy is outside Colorado Springs and pretty cool to go through ... Buffalo Bill's grave & museum just West of Denver off I-70 ... John Denver's house in Aspen .... nice horse stables in Allenspark just South of Estes Park .... really, all you have to do is drive around and you will find something of interest

It's beautiful there, but my #1 tip is to get off the pavement.
Handies Peak is a pretty good day hike if you are reasonably fit and into that kind of thing. Take one of those cheap aerosol cans of oxygen you can pick up at a convenience store. Trust me, it can help us flatlanders out close to the top. Incredible view from up there.

If you're in a 4wd, hit some trails on the Alpine Loop. Renting a Jeep or taking a Jeep tour is also an option.

I saw that a year ago and it was worth the visit. Colorado has some good golf courses too if you're into that.

You will smell like the **** house door on shrimp boat for 3 months if you get in em though.

Just got back last week. We go annually in summer. Leave Breck and head to Leadville via copper mountain - quickest route. Or for more scenic, Minturn (west Vail) to Leadville. In Leadville there’s an old saloon from the 1800s that doc Holliday frequented and it’s open for lunch. From Leadville, take independence pass to Aspen. It’s only open about 90-120 days each year and it is an amazing, breathtaking drive. Once on aspen, you could swing on over to Glenwood Springs and get on I 70 from there allow the better part of a day for that drive. You’ll constantly be pulling over for pictures. So allow plenty of time.

I would skip Summit County and go to Crested Butte or Durango instead.
Be sure to check before you come as many attractions and restaurants are closed in some mountain towns.
All bars are closed for another month now, but dispensaries are open.

Not much to Ouray, cool old town though. Don't blink.

Silverton is a nice old minnig town.
I would stay there instead of Ouray.

I would definitely book a white-water rafting trip
Several areas of the state offer some great rafting.

Also, be sure to bring and wear your masks, it's the law in many communities here in Colorado.
Enjoy and don't bring any COVID-19 with you.. lol

And I can't dunk anymore, too old..
