Good evening and happy holidays to all! Looking for a restaurant that has Christmas eve dinner. Willing to travel about an hour from Edgewater Park(exit 6 NJT) north or south. Thanks in advance for the advice. This should be enough time to make a reservation.

Just search non-Christian restaurants near me.

(ps..I'm joking)

perhaps you'd like to hone in on a food type for your suggestions? I mean, most restaurants are open Christmas Eve, some with regular menu and some with special Christmas Eve menus.

You want feast of the fishes Italian? Boycotting regular Christmas food Chinese or Thai? Lets have burgers or steak American?
BYOB or a complete wine/cocktail menu?

There's probably 500+ restaurants within an hour of Edgewater Park...you've got to help narrow it down a bit

You are absolutely correct. Italian, Spanish or upper scale Asian. Went to Under the Moon Cafe in Lambertville last year and it was amazing! I love to take my wife, mother and sister out for Christmas eve dinner. When I lived up in New Haven for 20 years until 2022 residing in an Italian neighborhood I always enjoyed seeing all the large family gatherings Christmas eve while going for my walk that evening.

Have you been to Amada in Radnor, PA? They have locations in Atlantic City and Philly too. We loved the Atlantic City restaurant

UTM is excellent. I know the owners well, great people. They have another location in Bordentown, and have recently started popping up some empanada shops (1 in Lawrenceville and 1 in New Hope).

Great choice right here! You’ll need to call for a reservation. Colleen will take good care of you.

Heading back east the week after Christmas. When I told her this she made an exception and gave us a reservation for 10 people on a Saturday night which they never do. Great place, amazing service

Thanks for all the advice above. A majority of the restaurants above aren't even open on Christmas eve nor do they have fixed menus. I'm down to 2 restaurants in South Jersey Kunkels Seafood Steakhouse in Haddon Heights or Vitale's in Gloucester City. I've been to Kunkel's and their food is next level amazing, but they are BYOB. Never been to Vitale's but heard great reviews and they have a bar. Leaning towards Vitale's...

Maybe I’m in the minority but outside of the Christmas Story- why do so many people even think Chinese or any sort of Asian food.

it really needs to be either Italian or a steakhouse. Though, a good Spanish place would great too.

years ago- first wife with no kids…we went up to lake George for The X-Mas Eve - X-Mas thing. There was a cool restaurant up there that offered a fire pit soup of tge day. Meaning, they had a huge wood burning fireplace in the dinning area. And they kept pots of soup hanging over it cooking.
Very cool concept and just felt so perfect. Never seen that anywhere else.
Doesn’t help for a choice in NJ but still baffled on the Asian dinner thing

For the same reason moths are drawn to my porch at night. That’s where the lights are on.

In a time when Americans were more religious and most businesses and restaurants were closed, Chinese restaurant owners and staff were largely neither Christian nor Jewish, so they were open on Christmas Eve and Christmas day. It became tradition for a lot of Christians to go on Christmas Eve and Jews on Christmas Day.

Monterey Grill on Rt 73 in Mount Laurel is open and has a Christmas Eve menu

We hold all of our work dinners/happy hours there and have zero complaints. Food & service is quite good.

My sister bought us a gift care at Monterey Grill for R anniversary last year and we've yet to use it. My sister swears by that spot...

Bonus is it's attached to the Aloft so I don't have to drive home after the work parties.

But yes, food it quite good. Great happy hour too
