Cheap stuff you used to drink or still do. Or brews that your old man used to swill.

What's good, what was putrid.

There are dive bars, there are also dive beers.

Let's keep craft or micro beers and seltzers out of this thread

My first beer was a Busch Light can, I wasn't heading for the mountains either.

It wasn't smooth, but it definitely wasn't the worst beer I've had , that honor may go to Milwaukee's Best or was it Old Milwaukee.

Oh my God, the Mad Dog 20/20. Now that takes me back 30 years. Didn't have all those flavors then, either. At least they weren't carried in New Brunswick/Franklin. Grape, orange and every once in a while watermelon. We stuck to the orange for the most part.
Natty Ice, foul tasting but strong as hell. Crazy Horse 40's.

The red banana one was the worst. Absolute worst.

PBR is cheap, ****** beer imo. Does that count? Or does the newfound popularity of the last decade disqualify it?

My first beer was something called Red Wolf. Never saw it before or after.

Must have liked that because Red Dog became my go-to underage beer.

Have had the 2 Milwaukees, Natty Ice, Keystone, Steel Reserve, Coors Extra Gold, Bud Ice, MGD.

Still dig Olympia, but Rainier is pretty gross. Hamms is another that deserves a mention.

Genesee Cream Ale terrible

I have to disagree. The regular Genny Cream Ale was the beer we usually purchased as freshman in HS, $2 a six pack. I still purchase it today and some of my daughters friends love it. While I love craft beer there is something about a cold Genny that just brings me back. Sometimes its nice to have something a little lighter when your just thirsty which is why I always have some in the garage fridge

If I'm a little light in the wallet and/or Bud isn't available I have no problem with Miller High Life. Come to think of it, it's my Bud back up regardless of price. I also like Miller Genuine Draft but that's priced around Bud so not sure I'd consider that "cheap"

Of the 3 major domestic brewers, Bud, Miller and Coors, Miller High Life is by far the best of them all. It used to be Coors Banquet but when they expanded production it lost something.

I find its always good to keep these types of beer in the fridge if you have a neighbor like mine. Anytime the neighbors get together around the firepit or driveway he always comes with 1 beer in his hand, the rest of the night he expects the host to supply him.

God Milwaukee's Best. We named our club football team after that beer in the 80's. Sent them a letter asking for T-shirts for the team. They sent 4 cases of beer. The beer cost less than T-Shirts but it gave us an excuse to throw a party.

Red Wolf was made by Anheuser Busch, I remember liking that a long, long time ago.

We used to get these for our RU Band ski trips to Killington every January. I don't recall what it was, but we had a game where you had to drink boiled Stegmaier.

For cheap beer I'm a PBR guy myself, yuengling being my usual favorite.

All you guys drinking Natty Light need to step your game up and start drinking what my Dad used to knock back:

We weren't allowed to have kegs on campus at my school. We would buy 40 cases of beast light and ice for our parties. plus 16 handles of Aristocrat vodka. that's another cheap booze that i'll never touch again. Aristocrat vodka. any vodka that comes in a bottle that bounces can't be good.

Vladimir Vodka was our Vodka of choice. Nothing cheaper and we got to salute the cossack on the bottle when we chugged.

Any of you ever hear of this stuff? This is the only picture I could find on the internet. I'm Polish but, this stuff is make you feel like you're going blind BAD. Made right here in Edison NJ though...

Not beer or vodka, but I've always been a fan of "Jersey Lightning":

Love it! Never tried the first one but the Lairds was a staple in HS. Two more of my rotgut favorites from my youth:

1. Tango - the premixed Vodka and OJ served in a plastic bottle.
2. Boone's Farm Tickle Pink - Always a favorite with the underage age ladies in the 80's.

Before my time
Never heard of either or the Maddog 20/20
