I dont disagree about owner liability. However, I wonder if there are leash laws there?

About as cheerful as most other news around here. I don't understand how owners aren't held liable and subject to criminal charges when they don't even have insurance to pay for the damages their dogs do.

Maybe I just relate to this story because I have a daughter that's about to leave for college too but if that was my daughter that got mauled, this wouldn't be about leash laws or liabilities. I would be hell bent on destroying 5 dogs and the owner any one that got in the way of my completing my mission. I would probably serve some time over something like this.

I hope the owners are held accountable for every bit of this....

I was riding my bike in my neighborhood earlier this year and was bitten. This was in a quiet residential neighborhood, and was nothing I’d ever considered could happen before.

I got off lucky, just with a big gash that needed 17 (ironic) stitches on my calf. But, like another poster said.... had this happened to my child I’d have murdered that POS dog in front of God and everybody and sold tickets.

I hope these owners will pay up, like the owners in my situation did. And I hope their dogs all meet proper justice...

If you own a large breed dog that shows ANY signs of aggression or anxiety towards any particular thing and you don’t pay attention to the warning signs, you deserve the possible consequences coming your way. Period.

Unfortunately, people who do not have enough personal responsibility to refrain from owning dogs like this or keep them properly restrained are similarly unlikely to have enough personal responsibility to acquire sufficient resources to pay for their negligent behavior.

Take their animals, put said animals down. Put owners in jail for aggravated assault.

Never leave the house unarmed. Especially if you are a female alone. Between aggressive dogs, pervs, thugs, and and everything else there are no end to the threats you face. Being on foot away from your home or vehicle makes you even more vulnerable. Had that mail carrier not been there with mace then we're probably reading about her funeral being planned and not her just being mauled...as bad as mauled is.
