Watching freshman Collins from Gonzaga. Not Kareem or Wilt but he catches and he shoots and he scores with ease. Not a lot of competition with the San Francisco
team but maybe someday we can secure a big guy as smooth as glass. ? Just a thought.

How about "any sized" player with skills. Even when we were in the A10, we would get transfers and JUCOs with actual skills. Hodgson, Worthy, Duncan, Hughes, Dabbs just to name a few. Dabbs was a skilled big man but the others could shoot, handle, pass, etc.,,,,you know..."play basketball".

Lately, it seems we just get one-dimensional players and projects. Maybe its the rise of AAU, etc., but It's amazing to me how many "players" can't actually shoot.

the really mobile BIGs with dribbling skills and ability to dunk OR hit from the outside seem to be from Europe or Brazil. Some of the BIGs I saw in RIO...looked like guards but taller LOL

I worked at RIO & 4 olympics before that,,,I love the Olympic basketball contests
America wins on sheer quickness & skill......

Gonzaga's coaches actually develop talent. RU recruits projects and expects them to somehow turn into skilled players without real coaching. Hopefully that's changing.

ND-Clemson today was a great example of how shooting can win you games when you struggle in the other facets

We just could not guard them-----way too athletic----kid Blasingame is really good and our big kid is to be kind------limited.

But we shot 3's well and hung around and made just enough plays in the last 3 minutes to eke it out.

Lead the nation in 2 key stats----FT Shooting and Assist to Turnover margin. When you share the ball and have 3-4 guys out there who can stroke it from beyond the arc you're hard to guard.

Patton on Creighton is 7' and very good. He is from Omaha and had very few offers while in high school. He red shirted last year as a incoming frosh and now is terrific. We need to get lucky like this.

Zach Collins was the No. 21 ranked prospect in the 2016 class. He was a legit five-star big man.

nonsense on developing offensive skills. Gonzaga recruits from a completely different pool than we have for the last decade.

We somehow have a knack for finding these players while other programs get guys that can shoot. I think that will change now.
