OT: ATV sprayer suggestions?

I'm looking at buying a sprayer for my ATV. Main purpose is spraying around pond, fence rows, etc, so obviously I want a wand for spot applications. I'm thinking a boom could also come in handy for lawn applications (~2acres).... I think 15 gallon could be big enough and I'm currently eyeing Chapin 97300 because it's ~$200 and has a double filter system. .... Most important is quality (I want it to work when I need to use it.) Anyone have suggestions or own sprayer that you love?

I’ve been around ATv sprayers with boomless nozzles for awhile. They are great if your pump is big enough. But I agree, one with a boom is best for spraying turf. I’ve been casually trying to design a diy boom for use with my sprayer on my mower.

Just check around online about pump quality. These things aren’t difficult to troubleshoot, other than the pump itself. If it goes out, you’re replacing it. Your gonna have to do some work over the years on all the plastic connections and fittings no matter what you get.

The one tractor supply sells is decent. I have one from there I modified to mount on the back of my lawnmower.

I have just under two acres and use a 31 gallon Northstar pull behind. It is the perfect size, I would hate to have to go refill halfway through.

Make sure whatever you get has a pressure regulator if you are going to use a boom. Mine is in its 3rd season with no issues yet. It was around $300... Unless you are dealing with really rough terrain, the tow behind with bigger tank is the way to go.

Second the NorthStar from Northern Tool. The pumps on those things are rock solid. Whole thing is made pretty well, for the money. Just get some 18/2 and increase the length of the pump power wire

I let my neighbor use it and he has twice ran over the power wire and had to buy me a new one last time because the contacts ripped out of the switch.

Pro tip: Don’t let chemical, especially glyphosate (Roundup) stay in lines and pump. Rinse (water, ammonia water, water) it out after every use to get maximum life out of pump. Also get at least a 4/gpm pump if boom has 3-5 nozzles. You want some return (agitation) going back in the tank.
