Louisville tried suing the Big 12 for picking WVU over them cause they thought they were offered first. The very next year the ACC had to choose Louisville after Maryland left cause there was nobody left to pick from. Louisville is a little far west for the far eastern ACC. The ACC would have chose WVU if Louisville would have got in Big 12 the previous year over them.
ACC would have become a much better conference with WVU and WVU improves football, basketball.....all sports. It was a match made for heaven that should have happened sooner. Either way WVU is winning and making big money in a better Big 12. It just doesn’t fit geographic wise. Lol

From a financial standpoint, moving the to Big 12 was a MUCH better decision. Why do you think Jimbo Fisher left for TAMU? There is NO money in the ACC. Jefferson Pilot sports isn't paying jack compare to IMG. Much better idea than the ACC..
This and I think ACC would have taken UCONN instead of WVU. I am more than Okay with Big XII.

ACC deserves what it gets. 4L division winner. ACC is a 1 team conference. Has been for a couple years.
UCONN may end up being the 16th if ND joins as a full member.
But if Dan Hurley doesn't turn around their basketball program they may end up in the Big East and drop to FCS.

Like WV was never the second option to the SEC after Missouri.
ACC picked Louisville who is from western upstate Kentucky and was nothing special academic wise. They didn’t fit at all. No way they would have passed on WVU. They needed the next best thing at that point. WVU has improved academic rating since. Big 12 actually has many elite academic schools as well.
WVU seemed too Yankee northern for SEC although they could have been no more odd in SEC as Missouri who doesn’t fit in at all. Missouri to SEC is just so strange. Total misfit.
WVU is so good in all sports especially the revenue sports that they won’t get ignored next time. Academic rating has improved as well. We elevate football, basketball for any conference and got good women’s teams as well. WVU is a slam dunk add for any conference.

Nope, never, you have to know the back story and one of the major issues was BC wanted nothing to do with UConn football in the Big East (and tired of losing to those low life Wv'ians). I can not see the ACC taking UConn and I cant see ND joining as a full member as long as they are allowed to get into the playoffs without a league(and to realize just how big a joke the playoff system is they will allow ND to get in without the 13th data point).
The current ACC commish wants nothing to do with WV and Im not sure why we want in the ACC. We are making a **** ton of cash in the Big 12.Now the SEC will take us in a NY minute.
That lawsuit was about to shake the foundation of all conference re-alignment and Rock and McConnell was about to haul the ESPN execs to Capital Hill and all of a sudden WVU is in the Big 12 and Louisville in the ACC(remember McConnell and some Big 12 people wanted U of L at the last minute over WVU so Jay got involved and kept the WVU Big 12 deal in place and this helped the ACC cut a deal for U of L). BTW, the ACC was glad to get U of L over WVU.

1) 5-4 Pitt and 4-4 VT both control their own destinies in the ACC Coastal.
2) 5-4 Northwestern controls their own destiny in the Big Ten West.
3) 5-4 Arizona St controls their own destiny in the Pac-12 South.

I heard Luck was asked by the ACC powers that be about his interested in bringing WVU into the ACC when Maryland left.
ACC would have jumped all over WVU if we waited another year and let Louisville go to Big 12. Don’t believe the nonsense that the ACC wouldn’t take WVU. Years before the ACC got the big city markets they wanted over WVU but after Maryland left they were desperate and took Louisville cause nobody else was available. If WVU was available they would have chosen WVU easy.
