involved in fatal shooting. Heard a couple stories, that 1 was arrested, and also that no charges as of yet. So developing.

The players were the ones to call the police, wait at the scene and cooperated with authorities. So far it doesn’t sound like any foul play on their part.
The dead man was shot in the back seat of the vehicle all three of them were riding in according to the article I read. Sounds pretty fishy.

I heard about this incident this morning. Trying to sell electronics and gun fire happens as the now dead man pulls a gun. Feels like more to the story than being given right now. May the full story come out.

Sounds like they met this guy to sell something and guy pulls a gun. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes, but not sure why people want to assume there is more to the story. Bad experience for all involved.

Geaux, for me I guess I’d like to know more about how the men knew each other. It’s sad that a life was lost and could have been more.

I've been selling stuff on craigslist/letgo for about 5 years, pretty heavily at times, in Nebraska, Florida, and Puerto Rico. Probably over 500 transactions. Not once, have I run into a problem like this. Now maybe I have been lucky, but I doubt their meeting had anything to do with selling electronics.

It does happen and for some pretty petty things. Just because you’ve never had this problem doesn’t mean that it doesn’t happen. There is a reason that some police stations and such allow for exchanges like this to take place.

Think what you like. That was no electronics sale.

I sold a 1970? Mercury Marquis in Columbia Missouri one time for I think $200. Car only ran on 7 of 8 cylinders. When the guy who was obviously at least drunk got out of his car to look at my beater there was a large handgun and a bag on his seat. Umm yeah he wasn't white. After he drove off I kept thinking man I should have just given him that rust bucket. I kept seeing his lady friend driving that junker around town until I finally moved back to Nebraska a few months later. The best thing one could ever do when selling or buying something is to require that they meet you next to a police station in broad daylight.

As of today, the Baton Rouge paper says the guy who was killed drew first and one of the two players pulled out his gun and blew the perp away. It appears there is still grey area here (like the reason a college student is carrying a gun), but if it is what it is, self defense, I hope both players are allowed to play against UCF.

Yeah, meeting in the dark and carrying a gun is how I always sell my legitimate things.....

Three thugs, one dead. Sometimes it works out better, and they kill each other. These losers were not trading recipes.

Edit: their mommas said "they didna do nuffin, fine young boys going to colledge"

If it isn’t anything nefarious then this is with the location and time picked, then it is certainly a poor choice.

Selling anything on Craigslist has become dangerous business, and I'd probably feel safer doing it while carrying a handgun. If I didn't have young children I'd own one or more.

There are times when we sell a thing or two through Craigslist and always have a gun (CCL holders). I wouldn’t show up to a meet like that with no protection. There are too many wackos in the world to risk it.

Your edit is a bit uncalled for. Frankly its a bit racist and I am never one to play the race card. “ nuffin”? Wow.

I don’t know what it was but I’m not going to point the finger here and scream foul play based on no evidence of that.
I gave my evidence, and while it certainly doesn't cover every possible situation, you chose to discount it, and that's fine. 99.9% of these things go off without a hitch, and you have to use some brains about it.

You have to remember, only the buyer is the guy with the money, so selling something is pretty safe to begin with, because you aren't the one with the money in the first place.

Yes, meet at a public place, that is wise to do when you can.

Now, on to this story, you got 3 brothers, who at least 2 of which are carrying to meet over some kind of sale. Usually, when there is shooting going on, it involves drugs. Now they can't actually tell the police that, so they come up with some ******** 'electronics sale' and gullible people believe it.

I don't really care what happened either way, I was just telling my experience of selling goods over the years in multiple locations, and whether you agree with it or not, I do know what I am talking about it.

If you want to believe the fear narrative that is told and sold to you, then by all means go ahead.

So I started dating again a little over a year ago after a 26 or 27 (can never remember) year marriage...for kicks, and I was expecting nothing when I did it, I posted an add on CL (it was still an option then, that section is gone now)...and I actually met a few decent ladies on there, none were a match, but I met what appeared to be decent normal people just like me...so anywhoo, moving right along, I posted one add, few girls, no match, no biggie...then a few months later I start getting very strange emails from somebody claiming to be a girl who wanted to meet me, with the kinds of details I'd share with a first date, actually with details I'd share after several dates, she kept claiming she didn't know me or ever meet me but she knew way to much about me and it totally creeped me the hell out, and her email address was from some super weird address, addressed to my gmail account (how the heck does somebody get that who's never met me?). I finally told her "I think we've met, and you give the appearance you're stalking me, and I'm going to bow out, good luck in your search", and I never heard from her again...few days later I realized because of some of the details she knew about me, that it was a girl I met on CL. Moral to the story, don't date girls on CL.
