I couldn't figure out what the Jazz were doing with Oscar, bringing him up frequently just to get DNPs but he's started to get some regular playing time the last few games. Tonight he played 23 minutes in a close game and had 9 points, 9 rebounds, an assist, and 3 steals with the best +/- on the Jazz for the game.

Him and Mac MacClung fall into that highly unfortunate tweener territory where they’re way too good to be in the G-League and just not good enough to be in the modern NBA. I hope he can start to get consistent minutes, but he’ll have to fight hard for it next year when the Jazz want to win again.

I’ve always thought guys like that should just go overseas and be a superstar for some random European country. But I get the NBA is the highest level.

I love oscar... despite his weird blip where he said something horrible was going to happen right before the tournament and refused to fly with the team or something like that lol.

But love the dude and his hustle. I knew he eventually with get some real NBA playing time

What they are doing is tanking. I love Oscar, but he isn’t an NBA pro. They brought him up to fill a roster spot on an already otherwise awful roster.

I don't doubt that they're tanking right now but I'd bet real money Oscar gets a regular NBA contract for next season somewhere.

I’ll take that bet (and hope that I lose).
You seem to think the 12th and 13th guys on NBA rosters are NBA stars but they're not; that's why they're on the end of the bench. Oscar's numbers in his limited minutes have been better than most 12th and 13th guys put up so him being on an NBA roster is more a liklihood than a longshot.

The NBA was a much better product when guys like Oscar were competing in the league.
Charles Oakley, Rick Mahorn, the Davis brothers, even Rodman has no place in the modern NBA. Bring back the rugged and brute 4 spot in the NBA.

He was right. We played like crap and lost. Terrible stuff.
