Chip hasn't done very well since leaving there 4 years ago. The people in Philly were very disappointed with his personnel decisions and SF is a disaster. I was thinking that Scott Frost might be a candidate.

They will give Chip a call imo. He's a jerk. He's a sorry NFL coach....but he's one hell of a college coach and runs a great college style offense.

His trajectory looked a lot like Blankenship's. The difference when you have Nike money is you don't have to wait through two crappy seasons when the writing is on the wall.

Monty's offense would be perfect for Oregon. However, the Ducks want someone with west coast ties.

I agree with Lawpoke in this one. First call is to Chip...and it wouldn't surprise me if he pulled a Saban/Petrino and quit in the middle of the season to start right away. I thought Frost too but it's a hard thing to judge after only 1 yr with a team fraught with another guy's recruits. UCF didn't tank because they lacked talent, they just quit on O'Leary and he didn't have the energy to dig them out.

Interesting. One has to wonder how a Texas guy would do recruiting on the West coast even with all the fancy toys which comes with the Oregon job.

Yeah, that's why I disagree with Thamel who seems to think Monty is a candidate for that job. Hard to see that when you're talking about a guy who has never had a coaching gig away from Texas and Oklahoma. Kiffin...I think he's a really good fit if Phil Knight isn't able to talk Chip Kelly into coming back.

Ohhhhh! Back in the day, KELI brought me Jerry Lee, Fats, Chuck, Richard Wayne Pennyman, & many others. Nobodies rocked harder before or since. FYI-Emmit Kelly is from Sedan,KS, about 75 miles northwest of Tulsa, just across the state line. Poor little Sedan's only claim to fame.

But everyone knows KAKC was much better - and staffed with TU folks.
