I just love these conservatives. They hate teachers in public schools and think that most are incompetent when it comes to educating students, but they would trust them 100% with a firearm to protect the students. Can't make that **** up........[roll]

America is mighty progressive in those states where most of Americans live, why argue when it is obvious you haven't read the bill, seems on facebook all the rubes are turning from Trump defense to another round of abortion rights memes, they gotta think they are morally superior to everyone somehow now that their MAGA hats identify them as not so much.

If you were to listen to what is said on this subject (or had the attention span of more than a 3 year old) you would have seen that the discussion related to arming teachers carries with it the words "selected", "experienced with fire arms", " former place officer or extensive military experience", etc. You glossed over the finer, most relevant points and formulated your silly argument on intentionally chosen misleading, dishonestly presented spin of the facts. Not sure to whom you refer when you say '...THESE Conservatives...", but I have serious doubts that you know the feelings toward teachers of all those you include within this category. Just another example of the tactics of many on the Left who will religiously follow inane, distorted, stereotypical silly to stupid talking points supplied to them by the leaders of their Party. These parroted utterances take the place of reasonable, healthy debate and sharing of logically derived information rather than relying on politically correctness and name calling.

Ironically, the law in NY only allows abortion after week 24 if the mother's life or health is in danger or if the fetus is not viable. Some people are making the change into something it wasn't. The change was to get unclear language out of the books. Some docs cited criminal code on the books until this change as a reason to refuse to abort after the 24th week under any circumstances.

That is about as laughable as the medical marijuana farce. BTW...I support zero restrictions on marijuana.

I don't know how clearly they've defined that. That is the change though. It's not some automatic thing that you can get an abortion at 25 weeks in NY now.

Please clarify as to what your response has to do with the posting to which you have attached. My initial post was in regard to arming teachers in schools for protection. You responded regarding abortions in NY. DUH?????

First, did you read the thread from the start? Second, I was pointing out how both sides have a hair trigger, pun intended, on their own individual topics of choice. In this case, the leftvis triggered by talks of arming teachers, and the right is triggered by anything related to abortion. You pointed out details omitted about arming teachers. I put up details omitted from the change in the NY abortion laws.

Another exaggeration.
The proposal is to arm RESPONSIBLE and TRAINED teachers who have prior experience and training in previous life situations. The proposal might also include retired law enforcement, security, or military folks who, for whatever reason, are available to join such activity (retired, work schedule is such that volunteering/employed at a neighborhood school for a few hours would be possible, folks with some physical condition that restricts them from performing a physically demanding job might well be valuable in this context, etc.) I have little doubt that there are a multitude of teachers, with limited formal training in 'police type work' who have known how to handle a gun for their adult lives and could be 'polished' quite quickly into an effective security person. Notice that I have not mentioned politics anywhere above. This is not a Liberal/conservative issue an all should avoid allowing such considerations to enter the conversation. But, voluminous data exists to emphasize that "gun FREE Zones" are a magnet for those who have no respect for law and are intent on carrying out horrendous acts with guns, knowing full well that they will encounter little, if any, significant resistance within this "Zone". Efficient, thorough security check points to forbid entry to those without appropriate reason to be at the location and/or those carrying weapons must also be devised and implemented.
