We got outcoached today. First half, we dominated the game both offensively and defensively, other than the fumble return for the TD. I'm not smart enough to know what adjustments the Memphis coaches made at halftime, but I do know that other than the one interception, they kicked our asses on both sides of the ball for the first 25 minutes of the second half.

I don't agree with this much at all. There were some effort issues and lulls in the middle of the game, but outcoached? Memphis didn't do anything to stop us today. All of our stops were due to self-inflicted stuff. I didn't like some of Leach's decisions like not kicking the FG, or going for the onside kick a second time, but I didn't see some game where Memphis schemed us and we couldn't stop them. Their offense was pretty much stoned by our defense for most of the game. We thoroughly and completely dominated this game everywhere but the scoreboard. If you looked at the box score and didn't know the final score, you'd think we won by four TDs.
We just got too conservative on offense. We scored no problem when we had too by throwing the ball deep. When we were up 10 it was like we just wanted to run the clock out and gain 3-5 every play. Not sure if that's coaching orQB
We’ve now got 2 of 3 head coaches of major sports that act day in and day out like they’ve got a foot and a half out the door pointed towards retirement and maybe a toe or two still in their actual coaching office. They recruit like it, they coach like it, and we get results like it.
The problem is Rogers is scared to turn it loose unless he is forced to. Twice this year we’ve been down multiple scores in the fourth quarter and immediately started humming on offense because we start throwing the ball deep. The rest of the game he checks it down to the running backs 80% of the time. The receivers are apparently open down the field. Rogers just has to hit them.
The entire game flipped on that fiasco of play calling inside the 5 yard line where we got nothing. Leach completely blew it. Then he refused to give a **** about the bad call on the punt.
And the other one just got our first ever major team sport natty. Oh but I forgot, football pays the bills so nobody should give a **** about baseball.
Almost like he is too scared to throw an INT. I appreciate taking care of the ball but he has to take more chances.
Our players weren't exactly outcoached it was just their coach made better decisions like not chasing points early in a game. If I was a coach on any level I'll kick the field goal on the one to get the 3 10 of 10 times for the exact reason we saw today unless your behind and have to but that's a no brainer. So that's 6 we chased and didn't get the 99% chance of the 3 points. Then the first two point conversion. He chases two and we lost the 1. That's four points. So what do we lose by even with the horrible officiating 2 points and there was over a minute left so we kick the extra point and they are the ones having to drive down the field to tie or win with 1:30 left with a mostly running offense. Don't know how many timeouts they had but I bet the best they would have got was a long fg
Attempt or and interception by us to win the game. Our players did miss lots of oppurtunities but this is on leach and leach only.
I thought Silverfield did some pretty dumb crap too. That fourth down attempt from his own 30 was a disaster. And throwing it deep on third and short and then punting was bad too.

All he had to do was not chase those points and he always says some crap about how it should have worked and this and that. How bout a shuffle pass or a counter run when going for two. Mullen always got big yards and short yards when we just needed a little with that play. Don't know why we don't use it. Did Leach not watch any film of when mullen was here to try and see if he could find a few running plays that worked. And I'm talking about running plays that are going to the running back no matter what. Not the QB draws or read options.
I agree with you, I was thinking we should go to our 2-minute offense multiple times thru that game. Kinda like I do with the Cowboys, it’s a beautiful thing watching Dak run the 2-minute offense most of the time. And that’s when we do our most scoring, when we’re behind and time not our friend. I hope we can start speeding things up on offense I think it would help, given the fact our o-linemen can handle it…They usually seem to handle it…
Has nothing to do with their coaches or players. Leach blew it signal handedly.
