On a side baseball note - Hawks Field

I ran into a friend at the State basketball tourney last weekend who told me that the SubAir heating system under Hawks Field is broken and they're waiting on parts. Anyone else heard that? Saw an article in the OWH about the games being cancelled this weekend but no mention of that issue. Obviously they wouldn't be playing this weekend heating system or no, but it could definitely affect getting the field dry and ready asap when the weather turns.

That subair system broke about 10 or 15 years ago and I never heard if they actually fixed it or not. Either they never fixed it or it broke again.

That would be very important since that is when conference season opens up..

We don’t need to do what we did with Baylor and play in East Lansing..

Here's a video from SubAir touting how they used the SubAir system to drain the flood at Haymarket in 2015, so I'd say it's been working.

From what has been reported on the radio, that system has only worked about half the time since it's installation. Not very reliable if true.

Our high school has turf infield, we played vs Allen HS last night, full turf, if not, we probably couldn’t have played.
