90% of their fanbase probably doesn’t even know that they have a women’s basketball program. Or that they are hiring a coach.

I know of a former WBB coach with Ole Miss ties and can recruit girls that run fast in high heels.

I’d beg to differ. They were cheating their asses off in WBB a few years ago, so somebody there with some pull cares about it.

They have whiffed on 3 so far. The wku coach who chose Cincy after om came with two offers.
Ark Little rocks coach used them for a new contract.
A friend who is an sec assistant with prev hc experience told them not no but hell no.

I wont be surprised to see Rushing from Cent Ark get it. she pushes for every job opening in this area. Former delta st coach.

No one worth a damn wants to mess with Vic and the overall situation with the ascot wearing dipshits right now.

They should take a look at Missy Bilderback. Missy doesn't have any SEC experience, but has been phenomenal at the JUCO level in a short time. She's a great coach and has one of her players at Jones already committed to Ole Miss. Sidebar: It would be hard for me to hate them though if she was their coach, so...

Oh no.. they know there is a WBB team. It drives them crazy the success and publicity our program has gotten. Currently, they all believe they will get Kim Maulkey to be there next coach.. I'm not kidding

I listen to Cannon Rebel Yell Hoddy Toddy Hotline sometimes and last week they admitted that the program in Starkville is making that UM job much harder (more ******) than it already was to hire anyone decent.

this program has changed not only the State of MS but the SEC West.

Yeah, her husband Chip coached my boy's football team this year. Best year we've had since Nick Griffin's senior year. They were good people.

I heard they held a meeting last month with their former WBB Alums.

Their former WBB Alums said they needed to put a bigger emphasis on LSU and to hire a Geno Auriemma like coach.

With the name brand they have, they're probably luring Muffet McGraw***

I knew the former but assumed the latter was no longer true, but having learned that I was wrong I still have no feelings about it.

SHOULD I feel bad? Does anyone here really care about the minor sports when their team is last in the league? I highly doubt it.

Yolett McPhee-McCuin is new OM WBB HC

Almost a month since Insell was fired, isn't about time for them to bring in somebody?

Hired today ..

After turning around the women’s basketball program at Jacksonville University, Yolett McPhee-McCuin has been tabbed the ninth head coach in Ole Miss history, as announced Wednesday by Vice Chancellor for Intercollegiate Athletics Ross Bjork.

McPhee-McCuin will be publicly introduced on Friday at noon CT in The Pavilion, and all Ole Miss fans are invited to attend, with food and beverage provided. Doors to the Pavilion will open at 11:30 a.m.

McPhee-McCuin spent the previous five seasons transforming Jacksonville into a perennial power in the Atlantic Sun Conference. During her tenure as head coach, McPhee-McCuin led the Dolphins to a 94-63 record (50-24 in ASUN play) and postseason appearances in each of her last three seasons.

I don’t think they realize she’s from the Bahamas and not Haiti.

Well, that means the WBB team will definitely attend to meet her.

Looks like a pretty good hire. Huge step up from the Atlantic Sun to the SEC, but she's been successful at Jacksonville and she does have some SEC experience as an assistant.

They DO care as evidenced by the 20 added posts and >5400 views of post announcing their new coach. They just DON'T admit to caring about a losing program.

Is that Jacksonville State in Alabama? Can't really tell where it is from their web page at the link you gave. I think there may be one of a similar name in Jacksonville, Florida too.

Jacksonville State had some pretty bad tornado damage a couple weeks ago from the EF3.

They can only go up from Insell. That weirdo was terrible.

This lady will have to recruit well out of state to be competitive. There aren’t many blue chip women’s basketball players that come out of this state and we have a huge advantage over them in recruiting for the foreseeable future. And the only in-state players who have played significant minutes for us the last two years were Vivians and Holmes (you can kinda count Blair too but that’s a unique situation).

It's Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, Florida. Easy mistake to make. Not as easy as mistaking Mississippi State for Ole Miss though, apparently.
