I am glad that rebs and dogs joined forces to try get a needed change to happen.
But there are some things about ole miss, its staff, and students I just can't understand:
As I watched Nikki give her so speach at the capital, I couldn't help but notice a white man and a black woman right behind her with the "ole miss" logo on their masks. They are their to stand up against a divisive symbol of the past and don't see the irony?
Why haven't all black athletes from Mississippi stood up (like Kylin) and said they will not represent a school that goes by and celebrates symbols of slavery?
Why do non athlete black students attend there? There is no red backpacks full of cash or prostitutes being handed out to them. I can't imagine any scholarships convincing me to go to a school that celebrated hitler or communism.
I'm not asking these to be a smart *** and not just because I'm a State grad. I had the questions about attendance when I grew up in Arkansas and was a hog fan. I understand A right to make their own choice but any insight would be great.
