So it appears that the only way to get tickets for the OSU game is to buy season tickets. Living in Durham I probably won't be able to make the other home games this year so I'm just thinking of biting the bullet and buying the season ticket just for that game.

So my question is...do people do that? Seems like an awful waste. If so, does one then sell the other single game tickets on Stubhub or is that practice generally frowned upon?

People do it. I believe their is a way to donate the other games to underprivileged kids and/or military personnel/veterans. Please donate to NU fans if you can.

Seeing how you'll be taking a loss on the other games I don't think anyone here will frown upon your reselling.

You can sell on StubHub but they track that type of thing and it may or may not impact your ability to get tickets in the future.

Its not great when season ticket holders sell their tickets on stub hub as you are guaranteeing the other team has fan in your seats.

I have donated tickets back to the University. They sent me documentation for tax deduction purposes. I think you need to be proactive in getting the tickets back to school so they can use them.

Basically, as part of celebrating my oldest son's 10th birthday, I wanted to take him to see the Cats play @Ryan Field under the lights :) We've watched the Cats play here a couple times here over at @Wallace Wade (kind of a depressing game day atmosphere, IMO) but he's never been to Evanston. Also, I was at the game the last time we beat OSU so I'm hoping my physical presence at this game will magically guarantee a similar result ;)

Can’t you get them ordered through another Season Ticket holder?

Why not just buy the OSU game tickets on Stubhub?

Give my Tickets to my Brother who lives in Evanston (-OSU, Homecoming)

There is no way for NU to control the number of OSU fans that will attend the game. The only regulating that is done is if the current ST holders who buy extra tickets refuse to sell them to OSU fans and even that is difficult to manage. NU sees this as an opportunity to sell extra season's tickets and they really don't care who buys them. OSU has been sold out for years so it is very difficult for average fans to see games in Columbus at the prices they are going for. This situation is similar at ND. So bottom line is be prepared to see a lot of red in the stadium and NU to see a lot of green.

It makes no sense that only season ticket holders only can buy individual tickets to OSU through NU. What does NU do with all those individual tickets, since they don't sell out every seat to season ticket holders, do they? Does NU sell tickets to StubHub, or does StubHub buy season tickets?

Guessing STH's bought many extras. Others will be offered to donors/friends. A friend of mine who volunteers for Alumni Association/placement got offers to buy ND tix last year.

Who should they sell them too, OSU fans?

Seems to be a difficult question to answer. WHAT happens to all the seats NU has that aren't sold to season ticket holders? Serious question, something seems out of whack here.
If any tickets remain they will be offered to the general public just like all other single game tickets are. Right now NU is focused on using the game to sell out its regular season tickets. Selling out a regular season individual game ticket vs OSU under the lights is the least of its worries. If you know a season ticket holder you can ask him/her to buy you one. That is done all of the time.

Many are already specified. Certain amount to OSU (probably 5K)and the rest of the conference(probably another 3-5K). Certain number for broadcasters and other prominent people (2-5K). Student section (5k) . If there are close to 18-20 K ST, and people bought 1 extra for each ST, the combination would fill the place. But if they are not all taken after offering to ST holders, they would then be

In addition, they did the same for ND last year. No ND Tickets were sold/released to the General Public by the Ticket Office to the best of knowledge
