Both didn’t make Sweet Sixteen.By all national measurements, including NET, etc., Big 12 was by far toughest conference in country because it played tough, in-your-face basketball and Kansas had one of the best passing teams in America.What showed up in March Madness was Barney Fifes with bullets in their guns thinking one-man dribbling offense was better than what got them into the Big Dance.Purdue did the same thing: Out-muscled its away to a 1 seed, then their feet became stuck in quicksand, or so it seemed.Big 12 a major bust with only Texas and Kansas State in Sweet Sixteen and 6 seed TCU facing 3 seed and perennial power Gonzaga.It’s a puzzlement, even given the history of March Madness. Only half the 1 seeds and 2 seeds are in the Sweet Sixteen field. FIVE 5 seeds or worse are in it with more games left! My crystal ball has been shattered into a zillion shards!
