I think we ride into half time with the lead, 21-17. Monty goes into protect the lead mode with 14:55 left in the 3Q and TU loses 38-20.

Our defense will be the best one Memphis plays all season.

Last year I'd be all over picking us to get hammered. I hate picking against us this year or predicting we'll lose because I actually think the players are good enough to win the game. Our gameplan and coaching staff are not (mainly focused on the HC).

While Tulsa has had a long history of success with players named Smith and Johnson. Memphis brings to town a much more descriptive roster where the name fits the game:

Joey Magnifico- Magnifico is the name and Magnifico is the game.

Kenneth Gainwell- Gainwell is the name and Gainwell is the game.

Charlie Whoopembutts- Whoopembutts is the name and Whoopembutts is the game.

Memphis beat Ole Miss at home. They beat Navy by 12 at home. Their only loss was by 2 points at a good Temple team. They look like the best team in the conference (they’ll get to prove it against SMU next week).

I just want to see improvement in execution (LESS penalties, no turnovers), better play calls & continued max effort from our players. If we see these things we have a chance at the upset.

Not a prediction but ESPN has created a game promo highlighting our throwback logo gold helmets and harkening to the “Loyal, Always True” lone in the alma mater. The ESPN guy does the voice over. It’s freaking cool. I can’t figure out how to share it on here from the mobile app, but Hines retweeted it on Twitter as well as several others. Check it out. #ReignCane

Should be nice weather for kickoff. We had success last year on homecoming when we beat Houston outta nowhere. Maybe this year we'll do it again? Deep down, none of us expect a W anymore on Saturdays and that's somewhat alarming... We don't have a kicker, O-line or a proven head coach. That's a weak hand to play with in a game of high stakes poker.
