The CW.. so exciting. Game is moved up due to winter weather possibility- I hate layoffs, I’ve said it over and over and expect us to come out rusty. Well win but I’m sure the gameday thread will be fun

Duke- 87
Wake- 70

Yeah we will come out rusty and Wake has played us tough the last few seasons. Duke wins but I think it’s a close game 6-8 point win type of game.

Wonder how Sarr is going to defend Juke Harris since they're about the same size? Last few times we needed Sarr to guard players who were much smaller than him and he excelled.
Also, we're much bigger than them inside... It's our job to get the bigs involved and get them in foul trouble. We make free throws we win going away. We don't it'll be closer than we want.

Let's go Duke!

Yeah if Sarr can take Harris out, that’s big. To your point, Duke is significantly bigger so every single possession needs to feed the post. I believe their front court players are both 6’7

Duke needs to have a dominant win today. They can’t afford to come out slow and sloppy. Win and win big. Limit turnovers, don’t chunk 3s, play inside with Cam and Pat, and let Cayden run point.

Duke - 83
Wake - 69

Going to be a long day unless we start making some open three's to open up the inside. Had some decent looks so far from distance but gotta make them especially Evans

Slow Start, the poor defense against the 3 Point Shot drives me crazy. Nonetheless the Free Throw Shooting is Improving, Duke's Defense is Elite, and The Blue Devils are Continuing 2 Evolve.

Bring on the Cardinals on Monday Night.

We know Cam was great, but Ngongba had a good game, 13 and 7. A shout out to Foster and Cayden. They combined for 16 points. That may not be great, but it isn’t bad either, considering between the two they only took 9 shots.

Yes, good call out about the two guards. Agreed both are not great, but anyone who says either is not good is incorrect.

I still think Cayden is going to really help this team and feels like a player who will look different come March.

Just got back from Florida to visit my dad and sister. We got to watch the 2 west coast games. Didn't see the game today as I was flying from Florida to Washington. Strange to leave Tampa at 7am and get to Seattle at 11:30am. My sister likes Showtime Slim, and we cracked up when he pointed to his watch after he scored. A few of my thoughts.
1. Boozer is really good. He seems to wear teams down. He usually plays better in half two; as we do. He is relentless.
2. Sarr impressed my dad. He's long, a great defender and really disrupted things.
3. Foster has become a solid guard. He's not going to blow you away, but seems to have really cut down on the head scratching plays of yesteryear.
4. I'm not the biggest fan of Pat at the moment. My dad noticed the numerous times he jogged back on defense. (he hates that lol) He seems a bit out of shape. He also is more than a bit chippy with other players. He's solid and a good foul shooter, but something seems off. Still a huge guy who helps wear down the defense. (and he played well today)
5. Nik looked solid. He looks like a classic 4 year guy. Hope he stays the course.
6. Brown is a luxury big man off the bench who does a lot of the little things.
7. We just keep winning. I think our defense is a big reason why. And Boozer.

In regards to #4, there's a guy on YouTube that goes by the screen name "JMann" who
is a Duke fan and breaks down Duke tape. In at least a couple of his videos he has said that Pat plays lazy at times and jogs when he should be running.

Your dad is a smart man. There are times when Pat just seems a tad too lazy. Also a little chippy, bringing the kind of attention to himself that isn’t good for him and the team.

The kid has a ton of talent, and actually has a good feel for the game.

My daughter and family are at the military base not far from Seattle.

They like it but they miss home.

Don't get me wrong Pat is really good. He's an absolute load and teams must have trouble dealing with him and Cameron. I think if we didn't have Brown to seamlessly come in these issues would be magnified.

I’m still not worried about Pat.

Sure he’s the last one down you’re many times but that’s not so unusual for true centers. Pat is not a C/F hybrid that runs 94 feet every possession.

I think he’s doing just fine statistically as well. He’s averaging 11 and 6 and rarely touches the ball while posted up.

If it wasn’t for Cameron, and I’m very glad we have Cameron, he’d average around 18 and 10.

We don’t have a lot to worry about and Pats not a worry in my opinion,

He is too chippy though, let’s just hope he doesn’t get T’d up for something stupid.

Yeah I too am not worried about Pat. I do agree sometimes he looks a little disinterested, but the kid has all the tools on the offensive side for someone that’s 6’11. I’m glad he’s on our team.

I think Pat and Brown combined give Duke many options at the 5.
Pat- very skilled offensively, great passer for a big. Can be a little slow on defense but has tons of size and sometimes that’s enough.
Brown- a good passer but not much else offensively. Insane at defending the perimeter as a big, good inside too, not a great rebounder.

Gives Jon a lot of options. I like this better than 2 of the same type of big. Cam covers up a whole lot too.
