Tire of mediocre basketball, this post is not just because of the Memphis loss, we are an average basketball team at best and sometimes below average, Haith is not going to get us to the NCAA, time for TU to move on and hire someone who plays a fast pace, and ORGANIZED basketball. We are paying too much for this product. There is a reason we have attendance issues.

Not a good thread. Frank is trying hard to get it done. He made a couple of really bad decisions today for an experienced coach ( getting away from his best defense and oversubbing) and it bit him today.

Wrong and self righteous post as usual, which is why I don't really put too much into your opinion. I , along with many other TU fans are tired of seeing an average product when we are paying $1.2 million a year.
Also, if you think I am worried about getting respect on a TU message board where nobody even knows who I am,you are very mistaken.
What exactly were your expectations for this year? Top 3 conference and an At-Large bid? I was thinking closer to 20 wins and an NIT bid, which is attainable. Then the following year, NCAA or bust.

Sure wasn't expecting to lose to Lamar at home or beaten by Illinois State twice, that alone would cost us an at large bid, also shouldn't be getting beat by Memphis either
You bring up the Blue and Gold glasses thing a lot , mabey I was optimistic about the season? After all we had a lot of good players returning from a 10 win season. That turned into a huge disappointment, so why would I keep complimenting them? My thing is if you are being paid $1.2 million a year at TU, you better at least be in the convo of the NCAA at least every other year, we are nowhere near close to that. If you disagree with that, that's fine, not a big deal.

Touche . Bill Self was a hell of a coach last year with all that talent. This year Self has gotten dumber . Why do you think Self was on Tre Young's NUTS last year ? I doubt if KU would have three home losses if Tre had become a Jayhawk. Today , TU went stone cold with eight minutes left and that was the ballgame.
Agree on Lamar and ISU. Road loss @Memphis not so much. Didn't expect to beat Kansas State though.
Cuz you were so hard on them there glasses, and then did an about face in football and basketball after you started getting flack for it. It's not your criticizing so much as what you are criticizing and it's frequency. You seem to go one way or the other, nothing in between.
I wouldn't count Dougie as a top assistant, but maybe my memory of his rep isn't that good.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not 100% happy with how this season is going nor am I nominating Haith for coach of the year. We are not playing to our potential and we can do better. BUT I’m not sure it’s time for fire Haith threads...

Wojcik was the associate head coach at Michigan State before he was hired at Tulsa. They finished 2nd in the Big10, behind #1 in the nation Illinois. They made it to the final four that year and finished ranked #5 in the final coaches poll. I believe that qualifies for a top assistant at a top 10 school.
That is what his team did. I was talking about his rep, for being the great assistant who had a big part in what Michigan St did, or not. What was his rep around the league was what I couldn't remember, and still don't.
I have high expectations for Tulsa basketball. I expect 25 win seasons. I expect NCAA appearances every year. The fan base today (what's left of it) has low expectations.
The honest assessment... Haith ain't getting it done. And he won't considering the level of play in the AAC and his lack of recruiting. This year was make or break. He did not land the players Tulsa needs.
His X's and O's are bad. Pathetic. Haith needs to go. But, it's larger than just Frank.
I want a recruiter. I want a major recruiter. Tulsa's best were GREAT at recruiting. Haith stinks. And his X"s and O's are arguably just as bad.

That is all I am saying. This is by no means a knee jerk reaction. We are mediocre, not bad, but not where Tulsa needs to be. We will win 15-17 games a year with Frank as the coach.
Is having a miracle win vs a horrible UCONN team something to be proud of? We should have beaten them by 20.
