I do not think the league has a national contender this year. I do not think its as strong at the top but I think the middle and the second half is much stronger than ever before and I think its going to be pretty tightly packed from teams 6 to 10. I see RU in a tier below the top 10 but not the worst in the league which I clearly think would be Penn State. I think best case RU finishes in 10 if everything breaks right.

Don't sleep on Northwestern, Minnesota, and Illinois, they are much improved as is RU. Michigan State is down this year but I would bet Izzo has them sneaking in the NCAA tourney. I think a down year for Iowa and Ohio State but both are still capable of pulling off some upsets.

I would agree with much of what you wrote BAC. I would love to see everything break our way and somehow finish number ten and get an NIT invite. I still think it's improbable though not impossible. If the RAC can get rocking, we may steal a couple of games there we're not supposed to win. Similarly, we may be able to steal one or two wins we're not supposed to win on the road.

Whatever the outcome, I love this team and I love the coaching staff. GO RU!

Parity is the best word to describe the B1G this season. Many of the teams had highly successful out of conference records which makes predicting league rankings very difficult.I definitely think Wisconsin,Purdue and Indiana are the 3 best B1G teams and there probably will be at least 6 teams invited to the NCAA.Rutgers can be anywhere from 10-14 and the factor that will decide their final position will be the number of points scored per game.Scoring in the low 60 point range will put Rutgers at the bottom of the league rankings.

Parity: wouldn't that mean RU finished 9-9?

After watching Minnesota and MSU tonight I think Rutgers can hang with Sparta, but don't expect them to win a tough road game. They get the Gophers at home late in the year and that will be a very win able game.
