I’m sure Coach Hahn is a very nice guy and works hard. But next year - if everyone returns - we could make a deep, deep run in the tourney. We need an offensive guru to come in and reinvent us offensively. And for those who say “we just need to make open shots” we can hire someone who can also deal with the technical aspects of shooting - that can also include free throws. Maybe some have to unlearn what they have learned. If we now think that Rutgers is a desirable destination, then that new assistant shouldn’t be hard to find.

What I don't understand is your top 3 coaches Pikell, Hobbs and Knight are all former guards yet we need an offensive guru as a coach; Knight a great shooter when he was in college doesn't he help these guys at least to shoot foul shots!!

Maybe Knight is a great recruiter but teaching offense isn’t one of his strengths. We can teach D no problem - but obviously something is not clicking offensively.

Lolol nervous Lou. Pike installs his offense. He has a defense mentality first. Hiring a lower assistant isn’t going to change pikes entire strategy.
Let’s go.

Players have to make shots. Its that simple. The shots were there last night against a Top 3 team and we missed tons of layups and couldn't hit a timely three. If we did that we could have won. I'm not sure what else you can ask for. It's really about recruiting the types of player like Wieskamp or Wagner who can consistently hit threes and draw out defenders. We don't have that player right now. Harper could be that guy but he's lost his edge.

Concise statement outlining the problem which is recruiting versus coaching.Pikiell has recruited players that are tall and athletic which was the Uconn plan that ultimately reached elite status with attracting outstanding scorers at every position.Few teams are so fortunate because the difference maker type players have so many options as to college choices.

No one said that. B
I was just about to say that if we want to improve our offensive performance and punch our ticket to the Final Four, we should go out and get Klatsky from Colgate. As an added bonus it will reunite the OP with his brother/cousin/friend. Holy crap.
No one said that. But as Kyk had pointed out (and we riddiculed him for it) we have no offensive identity.

I agree maybe fire knight or Hobbs. Our offense has been our offense for 5 years now and Hahn has been here for one. Doesn’t make a lot of sense to get rid of him.

Only in the twilight zone would we want to fire people from a staff that has for the first time in 45 years put back to back NCAA tournament caliber seasons together at Rutgers. This my friends is called jumping the shark
