Vanderbilt , if healthy is one of the top 25 players in all of college . Hell Calipari said this exact thing a few months ago( he said top 5 ) . With Vanderbilt , PJ, Reid and EJ we would 4 of the truly elite post players in the game.

But if we lose both and get Reid I am alllllllll good .

No disrespect to the poll, but Reid is the option that you are not mentioning on here that you should worry about more than those 2.

Part of me wonders if Travis is being considered for a 5 position more than a 4. Richards has a loooooong way to go

Provided we get Reid Travis, then I think getting Gabriel back would be more important for us. He is pretty versatile and can shoot the 3. Vanderbilt doesn't have an offensive game. OTOH, if we don't get Travis, then I think Vanderbilt is more important to this UK team just based on his rebounding and interior toughness. But ideally, I hope we get Travis and both Gabriel and Vanderbilt join PJ in returning...because I am a greedy bastard like that.

I love JVs game when healthy, but I voted Gabriel because of his 3pt shooting and who knows if we can ever rely on JV to be healthy.

I'll go with the guy who has actually shown he can stay on the court.

Plus, Wenyen's ability to stretch the defense with that silky smooth three point shot is a gamechanger

Gabriel

JV is more talented but his injury history, coupled with the seemingly weird relationship he has with the staff, and his inner circle, makes me nervous. With a stacked team like we’ll have next year Chemistry becomes huge. I don’t think he’s a bad kid but the whole situation during the season and now just gives off a weird vibe to me. He could be a great NBA player though.

Vanderbilt’s upside is much higher. But, can he stay healthy? The way Wenyen finished last season was consistent and solid. If you could guarantee a healthy Vando, that would be my pick. Otherwise, I am playing with house money and Gabriel.

I'll take the rebounding machine. He rebounds out of his area better than anyone I've seen. He just tracks down missed shots. Giving the shooters we have on this team 3 or 4 extra possessions a game will be deadly.

With that he has to stay healthy. Risks < Rewards

I have been sure about Vanderbilt staying until two things- Travis coming to UK picking up steam and the apparent nature of his relationship with Cal. Now who the hell knows. If Travis comes to UK, I just don’t see how Vanderbilt stays here. It will be interesting to see how this plays out tonite.

I'd be happy to have either or both back. Or one of them plus Reid. I'm starting to believe next year could be really, really special. Just give us guys who want to be here and will give it everything they have - then let's go get that championship!

Love Vanderbilt and his passing. He rebounds it well. Handles well. Gotta take him on the chance he’s healthy.
