I like a lot of what I saw in the first half. Willis raining threes as promised. Archie, offense and defense, on the money. Odom looks really good and athletic. McWright had a good half, I just wish he would have connected with Barnes on that alley oop, that would have brought the house down. Behrend even had a block and a bucket. Smickle really looks like he could develop into something by conference play.

The bad, I didn’t see much from a Carrington. Reed needs to spend more time inside, his hedge isn’t very good and it takes him too long to recover. I really like the things Reed can do but he needs to concentrate on those and not try to do too much. Finally, when we go cold it’s not just one player it’s the whole team at once. If we could keep a player or two hitting when a starter goes cold we would be dangerous. Overall I’m feeling positive so far.

Nash great defender and drives. No outside. Smikle will get a lot better. Carrington rebounds well.

Young team, good talent. Great potential. This year, this is a .500 team plus or minus (3) as margin of error and injuries.

Not good enough unfortunately.

BTW Carrington has nice form on his three.

Smikle is raw, but he’s got a much better motor than Reed.

Archie reminds me of a slightly taller, better shooting Rashad Ray.

We should be a 18 win team with our schedule.
Do you guys not get + or - 3?

I've put up +/- in front of a # several times before, and everybody usually just acted like I put up a straight #. You don't ignore the +/-.

+3 is an 18 win season.

Carrington showed out better in the second half. I’m sure the margin wasn’t enough for the negative nellies but I feel good. There will be some bumps in the road but there is talent there and I’m hoping we can get our injured bigs back on the court soon. If we can build some chemistry there is hope for a decent season.

I like our guard depth and athleticism.

Reserving judgment on the team until we have our real front court available.

Hopeful we will be improved YOY.

need to see Garcia. Without him long season.
Our defense is not good. Slow switches and constantly beaten with help defense leaving huge open threes.
Offense totally dependent on shooting 3’s. Dribble drive slow and no inside game.
Reed looks timid. Wish Odom could shoot, rest of his game solid!
Nash could be good if he developed a shot.
Disappointed in Barnes and Reed. Was hoping for more from them.
Smile needs lots of minutes to develop. He could develop with his body.

Hard to gauge.

Wish all bigs were available. Sminkle was a bright spot. Very active.

It’s seems like we have 25 guards available for 3 spots on the court. We’ll see how this shakes out.

Looks like last year’s team. Maybe a bit more athletic, but not as good without Haggerty.

Nice report. Odom and Willis are about 24 years old and you can see the difference they make. Odom has maybe the best A/T ratio of any TU PG in a long time and I like he and Archie playing together. Barnes struggles to dribble to the rim. If he works on that he is tough. Reed might need to put back on the weight. McWright is a Kansas level defender....just needs some offense. Got to make free throws.

I think the Haggerty hero ball was very predictable last year, and the fact that he couldn't shoot an 3 point shot didn't help.

If we can get the forwards back we might be better than last year.

Reed is kinda garbage. Odom & Willis will probably average more points than Haggerty did.

From what I have seen in practice Willis has been the only consistent shooter I talked to Garcia when I was at practice Wednesday and he said it would be another month and half before he is playing which would put it middle of November we need him playing good Maybe some others will pick up the shooting. I am hoping for a little over .500 record
Could see him in the ORU game. I think we can pull off a win against Arkansas Pine Bluff w/o him. They can't be much better than a D2 team.
