I think I'm gonna use the statement "Withrdrawing from transfer portal" tonight with my wife at no-no time and paint the map of Hawaii on her torso.

He entered the portal in October. Was he hurt and unable to play the remaining of the season ? I’ll trust Ruhle that letting him return to the team is the right call.

These guys have to find out first hand that the grass isn't always greener on the other side.

If you hop in the portal, it's at the coach's discretion whether you're allowed to come back because clearly you're not committed to your current benefactor.

I have read that he and his family had issues with Joseph. I have no idea what they were, but it was enough that he didn't want to come back as long as Joseph was involved.

I guess that means our new coaches recruited him back. They don’t need to take him back. Must want him.

Not sure how to react to this. To put it bluntly, he quit the team in the middle of the season. And obviously didn't get any offers that appealed to him through early January.

Do we even want a guy like that back? And what cost? Give him a scholarship and then that's one less scholarship to give a different transfer.

No, he's a JAG.

The question is whether IGC gets a scholarship back, or whether they have some NIL cash for him.

Is Sherman not good enough to start at Georgia? Or is he just not patient enough?
He was told in post season meeting that he would only be used on special teams and that Georgia was going to work on developing their younger players. In essence they processed him.

Backup that played in blowouts. Both OLB psns are loaded with blue chip talent at Georgia. Dude has 3 years to play as his first year was the Covid year.

In a perfect world he shows up with a 24/7 desire to make them regret that decision. Of course Georgia won't give a **** but it never hurts to have some motivation!

He was behind a 7th year guy and a second year guy and two of the guys on the depth chart at the other OLB slot are younger than him.

Then they brought in more in 2023 class. I am not sure if you are agreeing or disagreeing.

The kid wants to play and little of that appears to be on offer in Athens. Just from looking at his psn on the depth chart, the kid was slated to compete for a spot in the rotation, but if your intel is correct, the coaches told him to do that elsewhere.

I agree. Plus, there's merit to clearing out the WR room a bit so that coaches can develop the high upside guys. When a new offense is being taught, at least with the recent NU coaching staffs, 80% of the attention goes to the kids who are playing right away. If Rhule's staff operates the same way, they'll be working with this guy while the young kids with blazing speed stand by the water cooler.

Right, I wrote that he was processed. No doubt about that.

To answer your question, no he wasn't good enough to start in his three years at Georgia. He played special teams almost exclusively.

Holy crap.. this is big

IGC looked good early, I think he can be a good player for us.
This is big? Really?

Garcia-Castenada isn't very good and was passed over on the depth chart for that very reason last yr. The only schools that offered him in the portal were North Texas and UAB. Not exactly those in Power 5 conferences. This is a case of Rhule just tryin' to add some depth

I thought Mickey's comment when IGC left was odd at the time. You usually don't trash the guy leaving. You generally thank the guy for his efforts and wish him luck on his future even if you think otherwise.

Joseph seemed to be hard on kids he didn't think measured up, but turned out to have feet of clay.

On Sherman, per the OWH - A five-star once, but there's a more important number to watch with Sherman. That'd be the official 4.53-second 40-yard dash that Sherman clocked at the 2018 Opening Finals, making him the fastest linebacker at the event. Can Sherman still move like that at 250 pounds?

So, 2 receivers quit on MJ... am I reading the tea leaves correcrly?

Yeah, didn’t Micky say something to the affect that, and I paraphrase, that every player has a right to leave if they want? That wasn’t exactly an amicable comment.

Despite his denial over the semantics, I feel like dad only confirmed the point MJ was making. Basically, he was demanding more targets (after only a few games of not getting the looks) and decided to quit instead of earn his place.
I’m sure Washington and Vokolek wanted more looks also, etc.

If anything, there will be more competition for WR spots than last year. Kid better shelve the target demands and get down to work.

Yeah. Assuming he got humbled by lack of opportunity from the portal as teams didn’t want to add a prima donna mid-season quitter.

If they take him back, I hope he’s ready to grind whether he’s #1 or #4 on the depth chart.

It takes a TEAM.
