We have the same battered wife syndrome decision makers. After LT finally ended, we went a totally different direction and hired a young and talented AD that understood improvement was possible and we opened up the pocket book, started thinking outside the box and making real investment in our athletic teams and facilities. Byrne left and we hired one of our own that was supposed to come in and take his forever job at his alma mater. Stricklin came in and totally revamped our marketing and turned our vision to the future through additional investment in our programs. We made some great hires and one horrible hire, but things kept speeding along in an upward trajectory. Then one of our own rat-17ed us on his way to Florida and we made the dumbest decision we could have made....hire a baseball coach to run our multimillion dollar programs. Now we are back at square 1 with an AD that wants to renovate instead of rebuild, doesn’t understand marketing, hired a pathetic coach and pulled the purse strings leading to a group of bad coaches who would struggle to find G5 jobs, and can’t handle the most simple aspects of a smooth game day experience. I’m probably more angry at the way things have been handled and rat-17ing we have endured than at any point in my fandom. We don’t deserve anything positive because we have constantly mismanaged nearly everything we touch.

Well, the Stricklin supporters are the ones that forced Cohen down our throats. Blame their old pathetic asses. Stricklin did their bidding. Hell, he's got family in that group. No search for an AD was conducted.

So what's the main problem here? Is it nepotism? Are they just scared to spend money? Or are they just damn lazy?

I’ve always wondered how Cohen really came to get the job. When you look at the way it went down, it looks more like he just strong armed his way into the position. In the process, he abandoned his post as HC of the most successful program at our school at the worst possible time. To remedy this, he hired a young, unproven ASSISTANT to take over for him because he was too afraid to go after a standing HC at that time of year.

That was the start of the pattern that has emerged. Cohen is determined to look smart by hiring “up-and-coming” coaches on the cheap, and it ain’t working.

At least he won’t have to worry about football game day issues this fall.
