If you want fans to come and enjoy TU football on a hot day don't run out of drinking water during the 1st quarter of the game on the east side. Not everyone has access to the luxury boxes with A/C and unlimited water.
The water dispensers in the Club were empty at halftime. Overall a total fail by the staff on water in Club and in the stands. And we wonder why the East stands were nearly empty after half. Come on TU, you can do better.
And the paper towels in the men's room in the Club were empty. And so it goes.
It's not like Sodexo is new to the concessions game.two years ago they ran out of coffee when it was 25 degrees in november…and hot chocolate
it's flat out game day mismanagement. and it never changes…
it's not just a service issue, it's a lost revenue issue.
Hire a company like ExpoServe or someone who can run a large event concession successfully, and it will be ran successfully...
The 2:30pm game is the doing of TV. TU simply needs to ask for consideration for Sept. with regards to this. Yes on the having an actual concessions company manage each booth. We don't need to give stuff away every game. Keep winning and putting up video game numbers and fans will come out to watch. If football was being run like a business, there would be a critique of what went right and wrong here. TU should never schedule an afternoon game when the temperature is above 85 degrees. I've been there at another game, had to leave in 3rd quarter because we were roasting on our metal seats.
If listening to their customers, TU would:
- Have a professional company manage all concessions. (I can't believe we have volunteers managing our concessions as a fundraiser. That is so half assed.). Do it right. We probably lost many future fans yesterday because of this experience. If the current vendor is underperforming, hold them accountable for lack of performance and start interviewing others who would want your business to provide a high quality service.
- You can't give a Lexus away every game, but you need something to draw fans back especially after this misstep. Perhaps another giveaway for the next home game could make amends.
- Wasn't at the game, only followed it on ESPN through my phone. Not sure who is responsible for managing the play by play info, but there were strange gaps in the play by play, the wrong team with the ball, and then the other team would score. I felt like I was tripping on acid trying to follow what the hell was going on so I finally went to the bar with my family and gave up.

Totally agree on point #1. Using volunteers doing fundraising is no way to manage the concessions for TU football games. I have complained about the slow lines due to inefficiency behind the counter for years. Like it or not, concessions are part of the experience and consumers (fans) deserve better. This is something that can be fixed with a well placed profit motive. If football was being run like a business, there would be a critique of what went right and wrong here. ................... or not cave in to Tv for a non-marquee match up. In Sept. home games need to be played at 7pm or Thu/Fri night. They could let a professional group handle concessions, sell more, and donate some to the charity for helping stock the counters, or deliver water from one side to the other, etc.
