I don't know what Meryl Streep has said or done but doesn't matter as it pertains to my opinion. In general and I have said it before, I am very much in favor of celebrities using their fame and expressing their political opinions as long as they are honest. Unfortunately in today's society, there is so much dishonesty found on the internet (like this board) and on certain news outlets with opinionated talk in which they disguise it as "news", people including celebrities are fooled and then just parrot a bunch of crap. A good example of a celebrity speaking out in an honest manner is what Michael Jordan has done recently. This has been very impactful and probably has done more for the cop/black men issue recently than anything else. We need more honest discussions by those that have influence over the public but unfortunately we won't see it but rather crap from those with a predefined and partisan agenda.
As long as they are honest and correct. Far too often they spew emotion nonsense and pass it off as fact and substance.
