Stirtz did what he thought was best for him, Sandfort did the same.

How do ya like dem apples? (I just wanted to use the Good Will Hunting quote, ha)
Again....Stirtz JOINED Iowa and now represents IOWA.

Sandfort joined Iowa, left Iowa, then joined another team that Iowa clashes with multiple times a season.

There is nothing else to explain as this is a black and white difference as to who to boo and who to support.............

I dunno, I just think of college athletics as a series of one year contracts right now so thus I don't get too upset at someone not re-upping.

Like Kirk says, once the season is over he has to re-recruit his own team again.

I imagine if PS sux tonight we'll both be glad he left, but if he kills us ... I might have to avoid the board for awhile!

Did you really think the transfer portal was going to be a one-way street only benefitting Iowa?

No, I'm just saying that Iowa booing Pryce is the equivalent of Drake booing Bennett if we were to play there. I was just trying to introduce you to logic and reasoning, when you said Iowa should boo Stirtz. That's a dumb comparison. Feel free to use them.

You may be the only person concerned with how Sandfort will be received. LOL.

I hope they boo his transferred [to our most-hated rival] a$$ from start to finish.
Well said.

I have no idea why an Iowa fan would have any friendly feelings toward Sandfort. He's the opponent. He chose to leave. Boo him or don't, but I hope he has his worst game of the season. I'd love to have the chance to guard him myself.

I wonder if Koch will get the assignment. I wonder if Koch will even start.

I hope whoever draws Sandfort will be in his jersey all night long and will help send him and his Huskers back to Nebraska with another big L. And if the Hawkeyes are as fired up about this game as I am, well, I would appreciate that kind of effort and result.

I agree about not getting too upset given the current "rules", but boo his a$$ anyway.

Agreed. It's not about being "mad" at Sandfort. It's that we cheer for Iowa, and we cheer against the guys Iowa plays. And for the guys who have spurned Iowa, it's natural to cheer against them just a little bit more. Good-natured heckling is part of the game. I don't get why some folks get so uptight about a little booing -- it's simply how fans show displeasure.

That said, treating people poorly off the court -- especially young people -- is another matter. But within the arena of competition, there's no reason for fans to feel an obligation to "be nice" to their opponents.

I'm just comparing one player's "disloyalty" to another's. That's simple and I still think valid. But for better or worse, loyalty doesn't exist anywhere in college athletics anymore. So "disloyalty" seems like a silly thing to hold against a player now.

When I said I hope PS is received okay I really just meant not terribly ugly, name calling and a lot of vulgar stuff. That just reflects more on the fans than PS, imo. A little booing? Meh, he's a big boy and an opponent now. Fine, but I'm not gonna waste any energy on hating him for crying out loud.

No ill will against Sandfort as I believe transferring or entering the portal these days is mostly a money issue and which team can come up with the most money. Sadly, loyalty to the school that recruited you, even your home state school, means squat.
