All the blue hairs stay and let all the fair weather fans leave so the traffic is not as bad. They're smarter than he thinks. I always thought he was one of the blue hairs.
Truth be told….the biggest fans I’ve met at Hawk BB games are the so-called “blue hairs”.
I have found that the people who complain the most about them usually don’t go to very many games themselves.

NW had a chance with a minute left but Jake West did a heat check thinking he was Kam Woods

remembering back to BM/Drake games, close games tend to be a common occurrence. JMHO
Due to the style of game he wants. If they are not hitting shots, it tends to get dicey. His teams almost always get good shots each possession.

These commentators are the worst I’ve heard in a while
The one that sealed the mute button deal for me was when we allowed a NW guy to straight line drive in for a dunk, and by the sound of it from the announcers, you'd think NW just won the Championship. And the guy barely cleared rim on that. SMH.

Yep. When Lil Lick dunked it, you’d have thought Northwestern came back to take the lead.

To be fair, the little guy “dunked it over” our 6’10” player. Although our player was rotating over away from his man and only was even in the frame at the last second because of his hustle.

The announcers acted like he jumped over the top of our player rather than our guy rotating just a little too late to have any shot at blocking it.

Ended up much closer than I thought it would but I'll take the W.

Obviously, Stirtz carried the team today. Banks ended up with 13 mainly due to free throws, but nobody else ever got it going.

That guy West on NW had a solid game for a Freshman.

Presented without comment

Free Throws
First half
Iowa 22
NW 6

2nd half
Iowa 7
NW 16
Collins was in the refs ear all the way off the court at half time. Iowa took it to the rack in the first half, garnering a lot of calls. We missed a lot of layups because NW was very physical.

We walled up Martinelli well the shole game. He still got call where he initiated the contact.

Physical game with the Hawks winning in the paint.

Ben specifically called out Cooper Koch for his defense on Martinelli. Cooper has beefed up some and I find myself watching him on the defensive end. He has started to become an important piece especially as he gets more consistent hitting that corner three. I like that the Hawks can prevail now in a physical game.

Outside of BS they shot 36% from the field and 10% from 3.

Other guys need to step it up for sure. Hopefully just a one game deal.

I was worried about this one. That game went as expected. Iowa was a little off coming off 2 big road wins. You knew NW would fight and make it tough after being embarrassed at Illinois. Got the win, on to the next.
