He has a very compact release. This is good for accuracy and repeatability, whereby when he makes one, good chance he’ll make another. Kinda like foul shooting.

I mean you're not wrong but this is how our offense plays. So might as well ride the hot hand. That is what is most maddening is that even in a completely inept offense when someone does get hot we don't know how to keep finding them. They have to keep hunting for their own shot.

Gavin wouldn't have to chuck shots up the minute he touches it if Noah (and others) just makes the simple basketball play.

In most cases, I would agree. However to Noah, a ‘simple basketball play’ in that spot was to take a step-back three where he created a wide open look for himself. As hot as he’s been from deep lately, an open look for him has been money.

Frankly, if Gavin could do it (the step-back move), I’d welcome it every time.
