No short passing game

Why does every pass need to be a slow developing bomb? It's obviously not working.

I thought our read option game looked pretty good. But, hey, what's a 50 yard TD run....when you can throw it right to the other team's player OR you can fumble it for a TD return.

I really believe that his inability to get the ball down makes the coaches hesitate to throw short crosses and slants. Throwing those over the receivers are very inviting for turnovers.

his short throws are CONSISTENTLY high because he's short. is what it is.

OU had an extra week. They were off last week. The big 12 has KILLED us in scheduling. Some of it has just fallen that way with the decline of Texas and Okla St. slipping a little, but if we want to compete in this conference that can't be an excuse.

You could say Oklahoma would be rusty after having not played for 2 weeks.

his short throws are CONSISTENTLY high because he's short. is what it is.

This. And it's not just short throws. Throws down field are often high and behind. And I think this too is a function of his height.

I think he usually throws a pretty good deep ball. He had under thrown a few this year but he puts it in play. Almost every deep ball today was under thrown though. If you take that from him then he does not bring many positives to the game at all.
