Shocker, especially in a game reffed by Gerry McGinn (and two overturned contact penalties too).

But it looks like RU cleaned a lot of stuff up in camp.

In preseason interviews Schiano has mentioned that due to rules changes, coaches got to spend a lot more time with players this summer. I think it shows GS' staff has used the new rules wisely.. productively.

Also of note... my idea that it was bad that we did not spend more time planning specifically for NW game.. totally debunked.

Only lost a shutout due to a muffed punt he should have allowed to roll...

great job D... and offense.

Someone suggested Schiano was bit too conservative up 14-0 (I agree) and then late game.. I think it is more a case of closing teh playbook and deciding to not show anything else.

Looked very very well coached today. Two bigs hits by RU were called for targeting only to be reserved upon review. Great shoulder take downs.

Yep, was nice to see the refs do their jobs so well, plus that reversal on the TD, which was pretty clear. I generally dislike replay, but it worked very well today.

There was a penalty that was offset by a NW penalty in the red zone but yes a very clean game

Yes, we don't want to show Temple too much.

Someone suggested to me that the refs call on that was very strange.. like after viewing a replay he announced that "the call on the field is... TD"... but that was not the call on the field. (or was that in a different game? all a blur, so much football).. but does that indicate that there is some kind of incentive to get the call on teh field correct and to not have your call or your ref-squads calls reversed?

Is someone keeping stands on bad calls against teams that get reversed by video replay? Does changing the call on the field instead of saying call was reversed count against any way to track if refs routinely try to screw us (or anyone else)?

Anyway, a suggestion was made that a ref should be able to NOT make the call and say.. I didn't see what I needed to see to make a call.. check replay. Do the soccer box signal and just say check replay.

CBS cameras paid off for us.
CBS Sports knows what they are doing. I personally think they were responsible for the SEC becoming popular. I remember having a choice of watching a game on ESPN/ABC or CBS SEC game and it was no contest.. based purely on broadcast quality.. how they showed the atmosphere.. the college towns.. the fans... more cameras and better cameras.. just a much better production quality. And I think our game had those same qualities.

Thank you, CBS Sports.

BTW.. I also think the writers strike might put more focus on sports. I did notice ads for TV series that had been on streaming networks being offered now by CBS as their September lineup! Have no idea how they can clean up Yellowstone for network TV.

No penalties until we get in a big spot against one of the Big Boys. Ohio State has had some years where they went a full season without a holding call. I guess it’s all about coaching.
