No minor league baseball this year

[RocketDawg]

Going to have to wait until 2021 to see the minors play.

Sure would be nice if our players could come back and play in the spring and then join their respective MiLB system when they normally would if drafted then. Maybe not worth the risk for pitchers but it would benefit the MLB team by having them face better competition in the SEC than they would in rookie ball anyway. If they haven’t signed yet there might be some sort of exemption the NCAA and MLB could work out.

We were working out the other day next to minor leaguer

my son and I were in the cages at our Yalobusha Giants facility and there was a minor leaguer hitting balls along with several college players....i overheard him say they were continuing to pay them $400 a week right now and didnt know if they would play.....he was AA and was hoping for AAA.....for any of you baseball dads out there, dude had the sweetest swing and could absolutely ROPE....i wish i could have caught his name....one of those that everyone stopped to see hit....hope they don't give up...

I think we all figured this would happen. Really sucks for Jake Mangum. He's not getting any younger and needs to play.

Doesn’t MLB want to reduce the number of MiLB teams by about 40? Looks like Covid is giving them some help. Only 6 MLB teams “own” their entire feeder system. Some will fold without a season and no support from a Parent Team organization.

The number I heard was 42, basically they are planning to reduce the number of minor league time by 42.

I have season tickets .Had to obligate for 3 years. paid this year already. I wonder if I am obligated for 2 more or if next year and the year after ends my obligation?

That Texas collegiate summer league is looking pretty nice.

2 Things:

Non- Affiliate Minor Leagues a la Battered Bastards of Baseball?

I'm assuming this can only help the college game with home grown talent. But, how will this affect international players?

I think this was just a formality, knew it was coming.
