A very interesting campaign in the NND. Fourth place Northumberland defeated regular season champion Lancaster 3 times (including win in the district tourney) and lost to second place Essex 3 times (including a loss in the NND tourney championship game), while Essex lost to Lancaster twice. Plus, Essex also dropped a game to last place Rappahannock.
As for the upcoming regional tourney, obviously top seeded Lancaster will have to be the favorite and my dark horse is Washington & Lee. If Essex still had Ambrose, I'd give them a shot vs. Lancaster, but I don't like their chances in that matchup.

That's what I love about the nnd the competition level is top notch. You could make a case for all 6 teams. I can't remember a year that it was this close. I predict an all nnd regional final 4. Lancaster, Essex, Northumberland, and Rappahannock.

Not sure if he will or not, but the guys on the radio said that Ambrose should be back next week. I don't know the severity of the injury, just going off what the announcers said.

In following some of the games this year, the outcomes could be a toss up on any given day. Especially depending on who steps on the mound. Many of these games have been a coin flip with the winner benefitting from a mental mistake or error in the field. One thing that’s been solid from several teams is the pitching performances.

If some of these teams limit mistakes, and pitchers keep pitching the way they have been, it could be very interesting next week.

It sounds like one game today was almost blown early by a big mistake, but with solid pitching, along with some timely hits, two of the underdogs are moving on to Friday. Interesting that no one seemed to give CB a second thought with their ace on the mound. Sounds like he had another good performance tonight. West Point also picked up the W. They made a run at the end last year; they could be charging up to do it again. I’d like to see the underdogs put up another good performance on Friday! Would make next week even more interesting.
