There are a lot of offensive symptoms, but this is the disease. Inability to run between the tackles. Once the gears start to turn with them being able to run inside zone effectively, it's going to look like a night and day different offense.

To add to the problem, Adrian has made some poor choices and meshes on outside zone-read action. There are at least a couple plays where he hasn't forced the read man to commit and it's been a total dud. One appeared to be in overtime.

I'm not a Taylor Martinez fan per se, but his freshman year he was deadly on his zone-read mesh. He fooled me and the camera guy tons of times along with the defense and it was killer. Adrian has to be more patient at the mesh point, and I think lack of practice time with Mo and Mills both contributes to that.

Ugh. I really have no interest in reading what these coaches say during the week right now.

Right, I’m in sales. I don’t need to be sold anymore. Get some damn results and quit being out schemed by inferior teams.

Yep,fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. Actions speak a million times louder than words. We are starting to get bits of truth from Frost, although people don't seem to like the true.

Definitely has a kicker-type name.
Not addressing you here but the kicker issue.

Are we serious here? Auditioning club soccer guys? Really?
Its not an NFL team here. You cant call up tons of guys to come in if your ONE f-ing kicker goes down. Did they not notice before that they had only one REAL kicker before this injury? Im not saying we should be 3 deep with awesome scholarship kickers. But this is looking like someone dropped the ball here.

Ugh...more talk. Just one week, I'd love the coaches and players come out and say we aren't doing press conferences until we get our **** together. I just want them to shut the F up and play.

Adrian may be fast enough but he may not accelerate fast enough to beat that first tackle.

TM and AM are sooo different. TM was lightning in a bottle, but couldn't hold up to the hits a running QB has to take. His passing also was iffy, but man could he fly and do the TecmoBowl thing. Any play could go the distance.

This sucks. Pickering is one of the best kickers in the BIG 10 and us losing him has hurt thus far. We are going to need him back. What does a kicker do to get hurt for this long anyways???

So what are you saying then, are our coaches supposed to say nothing during the media deals or just not show up at all??? All these guys are doing is making their media stops and answering questions. And from I’m seeing here...not one Coach is hyping anyone up. They all know work is needing to be done. GBR

Not how it works. It doesn’t matter if we blow our opponents out or if we lose a nail bitter in OT like Colorado. We have to do the pressers.

Just don’t read if it bothers you. News flash, like every team in America, we will answer questions this week. Reporters will ask what went wrong and how we are trying to fix it and our players and coaches will answer. Really not a reason to get so bent out of shape.

When what we've been told is so far from reality, I cant imagine why anyone would care. It's like watching a White House press secretary and thinking you're going to get some facts.

I see this a lot and I don’t get it. Yes some national media picked us to have a good season and win the west, based on how we finished last year. But all we heard from our coaches was the same old working harder than ever, getting better everyday day stuff every staff says. Like you expected them to say “we believe this is a 7 win team, tops”. “Don’t get your hopes up for more”. “I know this might dampen morale on the team, but I don’t want anyone on the message boards thinking we might be better than we are.”

Call me a homer, but I think we’re closer to reality than you are suggesting. We feel flat in the second half, but our defense looked impressive for much of the game, and our offense looked quite good the first half as well. If we clean things up maybe we are closer to contenders in the West than we think.

Or I might just be a homer.

Ouch. Getting out of y
ouch! Technique and getting out of stance on time might be things to fix before OSU, NW, Wisky and Iowa...even NILL....some teams that are, um pretty physical and aggressive. I’m feeling worse every day

So those of you tired of the coaches talking, what would you prefer they do during media availability? Not answer any of the questions?

Exactly. This “shut up and play” nonsense might be the dumbest mantra on this board yet. I, for one, want to hear what they have to say and I can draw my own conclusions.

Agreed, I like to hear where they think they went wrong and how they plan to fix it. I’ve also listened to a lot of New England Patriots press conferences over the years and nothing could be dumber or a bigger waste of time. (Ok, sometimes Bill is unintentionally very funny.) I appreciate how open the coaches and players are to the media. Seems like some folks want Pelini and his bunker mentality to come back. Really?

Not pump up the freshman center who hasn't played a game to be dave Remington. Not pump up the quarterback who he doesnt trust to pass.

Fair enough. You want them to avoid the hyperbole and to quit hyping players, not to stop talking altogether.

Scholarship kicker gets hurt. Backup walkon kicker tweaks an ankle. How game ready kickers are you supposed to have
