Crean was on ESPN’s “NIT Selection Special” show when he started to lambast the idea of teams not wanting to play in college basketball’s other main postseason tournament.

Tom Crean’s IU declined an NIT invite 7 years ago so as not to “devalue” the court.

The NIT exhausted its usefulness a long time ago, certainly even before the NCAA Tournament field reached 68 teams. I say kill it off.
