About the game. Yes, it is against a lower division team, but wow. No prediction threads or talk of the team.

This is why you do not keep the "Dead Man Walking". Everyone knows there will be a coaching change and it is the fan base that pays the price.

I'm going to watch the game. What you are witnessing is apathy. Still love the Huskers. Love Scott Frost. Just not as head coach.

I know Scott Frost’s Huskers are looked at by many as a “lower division team”, but I think they have a shot at winning tomorrow.

Frost is going to be fired mid-season, which means none of this matters. Just prepare to fill the stands for the Spring Game to see whatever new coach does differently, probably with the same results.

The right new coach will win more games than Frost immediately. But it will take a couple of years of improved recruiting to challenge for a conference championship.

avg tenure at the time of said title: 3yrs

good coaches win big right away

Yeah but they all inherited a good team.

Did any of them take a team that had been losing for years (not just 1 down year) and turn them around immediately?

I've lost interest. Need a reason to get the fire back.

Agree. The coaches you described above likely fall into the “great” coach camp. There are a lot of “good” coaches that have elevated their programs in 3 years. Nearby, Ferentz, Campbell, and Fleck have all done it with programs that have a fraction of Nebraska’s resources.

The state of Iowa has two coaches who took over 3 wins from the previous year and had 7 and 8 wins by their third season. I realize it’s not fair to compare Nebraska to the resources and rich tradition that Iowa and Iowa State have, but you it still has been done nearby with their most recent coaching staffs.

Ferentz finished in the top 10 in years 4, 5 and 6 and we are debating if Frost is retained if he somehow gets to 7 wins

There have bee a lot of games in the last 5-7 years where everyone proclaimed that NU football was done. But I think this Ireland loss extinguished any hope that our prodigal son could turn this around. There are no optimists left so no energy left. It was not only the loss but the beating along the LOS and the bone head coaching call. Everyone knows it is over and wants it over so there is nothing to root for.

I'm working but after I get off work I "might" watch the recording "if" they win. After last week's debacle on poor execution and technique in the 2nd half I don't have any high expectations about this coaching staff to improve the product they are putting out on the field.

I think I would need to hear a final score of 50+ to 10 or less to really want to see any of today's game with how I feel about the direction the team is currently going in.

There will be plenty of posts after the game. AND especially should we struggle (although I'm not expecting that for this game).

I got a " dead man walking car" My mechanic says the engine needs replaced! Hmm so I'm going keep driving until I get get a replacement engine for a 2013 Hyundai! Same with the coach! We got to get a good replacement for a coach! Engines aren't cheap and so is coaches! Spend it & fix the problem! $7 to 10 million!

I had Covid during last week's game. The first half made me feel even more sick so I turned it off at halftime to try and nap. I never did go back and rewatch it. I have no intention of watching today or any other games until Frost is gone or gets to 7 wins. I will read this board though.

Bob Stoops did it in two years. Crappy seasons before him. I couldn't find any Blue Blood teams with a worse stretch than Nebraska to even compare it to.
